Oops, I missed Princess Mononoke in the list. I've seen and got this animation too.

    So it's 190 films I've seen.

I've seen 218, though I went on a kick of trying to watch as many from that list as I could a while back. Number 75: Untouchable isn't out in UK cinemas till 21st September, are we counting that one? ;)

    187. It's the oldies that I haven't seen so many of.

I think Chaplins work, for example, is still surprisingly accessable even if some of it is 90 years old. I think film fans would still enjoy most of the films in the top 250, even the really old ones. I love Modern Times.

Anybody who has never seen The Third Man really should too.

I started counting but then I noticed that Terminator 2 is 134 places higher in the list than the original Terminator so I couldn't be bothered counting any more on such an irrelevant list.

    159.

I've possibly seen a few more but forgotten, especially old films like Rebecca or Touch of Evil.

I've seen 43 of the top 50, which isn't bad. Not that the list is definitive in any way - it's simply a list of films voted for by IMDB web site visitors. I use IMDB a lot but I've never bothered to vote on any film, so I guess it's just a reflection of the sort of people who can be bothered to vote on web sites, very likely young people on the whole who will vote in large numbers for the latest Batman film but who will have hardly ever seen any film made in black and white.

    188. I haven't seen any of Chaplin's work, and also some of the Westerns(The Searchers, etc.).

Still, 188 out of 250 is not that bad.

The Searchers is awesome. The bluray looks amazing too.

    196.

A pretty terrible list it has to be said, that suffers with a lot of 'fave of the moment' inclusions that will not be so high in a few years time.

Inception..Batman... that is a joke yes?

^ yea it seems a bit ridiculous that all the recent batman ones feature up the top there. clearly there are a lot of people voting on the basis of seeing a big popular blockbuster.

I got 80... but then I watch a lot of obscure or lesser known stuff that probably isn't known by the voters.

IMDB is a ridiculous site when it comes to the public voters, no surprise there.

The IMDB measures little beyond but faddy popularity and campaigns.

    Agree

Some of those films definately do not deserve their position, and some don't even deserve to be on the list at all.

103 here. I haven't seen many movies from before the '70s - something I should probably amend. I don't know why people are surprised that popular movies populate the list. A movie like 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days might be a modern classic, but the audience will be both tiny and more critical.
