    Sooner than you thought. He was back in the building today clearing his desk so popped into the Simon Mayo show and did his bit on tonight's confession as he swansomg.

    Deadly, together with John Marsh, Colin Berry and Charles Nove were excellent announcers and newsreaders with exceptional radio voices. All much missed.
