Zachary Quinto has seemingly been outed as gay by an editor of New York Magazine.

Entertainment writer Mark Harris tweeted a message of support to the former Heroes star ahead of an upcoming issue of the publication featuring an interview with Quinto.

[news]Zachary Quinto outed as gay by editor[/news]Good for him if he is indeed "out and proud in the new issue of New York Magazine"! :)

And very well too. Leonard Nimoy was pleased to pass the role on to him for the future.

Well, there goes any chance of a serious JJ Abrams Star Trek film series Spock-Uhura relationship! :D

I have it on good authority that as an actor, he could play straight ;)

What a misleading headline. He wasn't "outed" by anybody. He casually says in the interview "as a gay man" when talking about the current political climate in America. It isn't some big thing and its a quote very hidden away, not put in the headline or treated as some big deal.

I thought he played Spock quite well, but he did it in a way that was as camp as Christmas.

Agree. All kinds of pathetic that from a really interesting and intelligent interview with him by NYMag, that's the bit that gets attention.

Here's the interview for anyone who's interested in him as an actor - http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/10/zachary_quinto.html

I was under the impression that his sexuality was an "open secret" similar to Jodie Foster.

Anyway, couldn't care less if someone is gay or straight and Quinto is a talented actor who comes across as a lovely person, and very educated, so that's what matters.

I wish to announce I'm a hetrosexual. Yes, it's true, I've been a fan of boobies for many years now.

    :D

Excellent actor. Very few could have pulled off the role of Spock and Nemoy was full of praise for him.

Loved him in 'Heroes' and even though I'm not a 'Star Trek' fan, I was really impressed with his portrayal of Spock. :)
