It seems a bit staged.. was Katie trolling This Morning:o
Yeah exactly... she talks like a provocative columnist... and what does google tell me... she is a provocative columnist :D
This already got 2,700,000 youtube hits so her editor will think her marvellous.

But the even bigger question is why the hell This Morning even did the segment in the first place ?

Because just like the stuff they did with Phillip Schofield trying to do extreme type things, they want to get the show in the papers a lot for some reason. I would have thought mid-morning just picks up viewers rather than needing to tout for them but obviously BBC's property shows on the other side must be doing quite well.

Honestly guys, its all worked out beforehand. They sit in a room and decide how the conversation is going to go - as has been said, its pantomime.

I don't know what's funnier Katie Whatsit putting on an act like a lemon or everyone getting wound up about it. This Morning must be rubbing their hand in glee at the publicity.

When I heard about this (I refuse to watch the link) I immediately thought it was staged. Hopkins is someone who feels validated by spouting off troll-like opinions, but clearly This Morning know that if they put her on screen she will get them ratings and press coverage. Plus she gets maximum publicity. Remember the saying, 'All publicity is good publicity'.

To be fair - she sorta does have a point re: names - they do tell a lot of a persons family HOWEVER, 1) not always the case, 2) why does it matter? Does it really matter if a child from a wealthy family is socialising with a child from a family with less money?

I also don't understand why if she is so upper class why her kid isn't in private school anyway...

I don't think she put her in her place, however I'm completely with her (Holly, and Phillip & the other lady) on this.

Katie Hopkins is always contradicting herself, she doesn't like children named after places but called her daughter India. She said only stupid people played tennis (in her column) while bleating on about her daughters tennis lessons.

    She's a complete fraud.

Actually many tennis players are known to by highly intelligent..Venus Williams is a very successful business woman, Marion Bartoli is said to have an IQ of 175, she was tested as a child, most of them are multi-lingual, most of them have businesses as a way to use their money in Philanthropy, which maybe what Katie dislikes people helping others....No doubt she thinks the name Venus is beneath her and I wonder what she says about children named Destiny, Asha, Hassan, Shernice, Fatima, Priya or
some other name associated with ethnicity...I feel sorry for her children having a very limited choice of playmates...are they even allowed to play....Would have been interesting if it had been Fern doing that interview...

I loved when they pointed out her own childrens names.

She is just the proverbial performing seal, really. Throw her a few fish and she'll let rip with any old nonsense.*

    *Sorry, seals.

I don't think it was all staged. Phil seemed actually quite shocked at a couple of points. The massive side eye he gave her when she was talking about intelligent names and the stunned look when when ugly children was bought up looked real to me. I don't think he's that good an actor.

Names don't always tell things about family so it's best to always reserve judgement imo, my family are working class but you probably would not guess from our names. We have always chosen normal names. Three of my cousins have traditional biblical names, the rest are not extremely commonly around, but just, well... normal. No funny spellings, no double barrels, no names after wines or anything.

I do generally dislike the type of names that that Katie woman is talking about and i've often read threads on here slating them too. I also don't like a lot of names that are so unusual it's ridiculous, the try-hard unique ones. But that's as far as it goes, a personal dislike. I would not actually judge someone based on the the taste of their parents, as it is so very insignificant!

Holly was probably annoyed at being called "Hols" by Katie, as if they were best friends.

What I meant is names Like, as one of my mums friends daighter, Charlii (yes, with 2 i's) or my step mums sister's daughter: Lola-Maii (again, with 2 i's).

There are plenty of Tyler's, Alfie's, Summer's and Caitlin's in the Daily Telegraph and Times birth annoucements...Looking now there is a Jackson, Baxter, Bay (girl), Hudson and Lexi...I don't think those children are going to state schools or come from sink estates...

I can't believe I'm about to post on another Katie Hopkins threat and this rancid old trout does not deserve one second of my time but ...

This just got personal (sort of) I am the mother of a child called Tyler. And he goes to school on time everyday, does his homework when he gets it, wears clean tidy uniform everyday and though I'll be the first to admit he's not perfect and he has his moments like every kid, mostly he's an intelligent, friendly and well behaved little boy. She can stick her prejudice up her arse, my boy would be better off not being friends with the likes of her kids anyway. Them poor kids are going to be brainwashed.

She's a good troll, and a lot of what she says is laughable but at the same time the fact that she believes all this bullshit she spouts, is absolutely tragic. I'm glad Holly embarrassed her, its about time that rancid old trout was taken down a peg or two.

I love you! (spoken as a mother of another Tyler who is a kind, sweet boy, works hard in school...was given a head teacher award for it today!!! but is still a little monkey who loves to make us laugh)

I haven't seen the interview-but just trying to picture what giving someone a 'massive side eye' actually looks like!:D

I think Hopkins is an awful woman. Having said that there are some kids when I hear their names that I feel sorry for, but then I would never judge the child / person on their name , they were given it , that's not their fault, its the person who counts not their name.

Staged or not, this will effect her children and how they are perceived by people who know who their mother is. Terrible parent, poor kids.
