A lot of recordings have different versions, with bits added and sometimes removed.
I wasn't aware of how many there were for some recordings

Someone on another board (with plenty of time) has gone to the trouble of stringing them all together, but removed most of the duplicated bits, to make one long version.

They've done it for two recordings.

Legend has it that there are over 200 mixes of Depeche Modes 'Enjoy The Silence' !

I severly doubt someone will try to mash all those into one version... it'll probably last for about 4 hours. ^_^

With modern technology there are probably an infinite number of amateur "djs" putting out remixes on YouTube etc. However back in the good old days of 12" singles we had to wait for the official releases or the odd special DJ issue. But I do believe Frankie Goes to Hollywood did about 9 different remixes of Two Tribes, releasing a different one each week to try to keep it high in the charts.

i'm sure i have a lot more of heros and villans than that, there were piles of sessions of that track alone

there were loads of frankie mixes too. i have a mix someone did of a load of versions of welcome to the pleasuredome that goes on for about an hour or more

if you like 80s 12"s the so80s series by blank and jones is good. there's also a 90s one and they've done a few other great compilations too.
