I remember spin offs were quite popular in the Eighties and Nineties I think out of all of them Frasier was the best out of the lot of them What are your favourite spin offs

NCIS (from JAG)
NCIS: LA (from NCIS)
Star Trek: TNG (from Star Trek)
Star Trek: DS9 (from Star Trek: TNG)
Star Trek: TNG
Mork and Mindy (from Happy Days)
Count Duckula (from Danger Mouse)
Robin's Nest
Frasier
Another good one - "Lewis" from "Inspector Morse."
Thinking about it, does "Endeavour" count too?
Going straight
Rock and chips
Mrs columbo
the law and harry mcgraw.
Almost as good as MATH.
No spinoff is better than The Sarah Jane Adventures.
The Sarah Jane Adventures was incredible, covering some surprisingly dark themes for a CBBC show and featuring a wide cast of likeable and endearing characters. The Trickster was such a good villain that he wouldn't look out of place in the main show!
If it had ever been stated rather than hinted at that Number Six was John Drake, I'd have gone for The Prisoner!
We don't come close to the Yanks for sitcoms , not even remotely close .
Only fools and horses
Fawlty towers
One foot in the grave
The office
Alan partridge
Pheonix nights
....the list goes on.
I think that most of us regard this thread as an opinion thread and not not posting as though stating a fact in the thread. You cannot say 'no spinoff is better than...' as we'd all be here forever arguing and that wouldn't get us anywhere.
By all means your preferred choice is valid for nomination like any others here and that's where you should have left it. So please put a lid on the self-entitled 'no other's opinions count apart from mine' posts as there are some great suggestions here from all.
Some of my best choices would be:
The New Avengers
The Bionic Woman
The Sweeny
Ashes to Ashes
Angel
Torchwood
Mork & Mindy
Futurama
Steptoe and Son
Absolutely Fabulous
Knowing Me, Knowing You... with Alan Partridge
Rab C Nesbitt
Phoenix Nights
Remove Thomset and Wilcox from a sitcom and it is almost better?
I also quite enjoyed Max and Paddy, which was a spin off from a spin off!
In that case "Porridge" and "Open all hours" were spin-offs from "Seven of One";-)
And "Porridge" too had its own spin-off - "Going straight".
In that case I'll add Phoenix Nights then
