Chrisr I used your suggestion megabytes.org and got ARO 2013 and primalice if I click on your suggestion the free download still says ARO 2013.?
Who what when and where is megabytes.org? Malwarebytes.org is the link I hope you are actually using.
I'm wondering therefore if you've got some nasty on your PC that is redirecting you away from Malwarebytes? Not unknown as it does have a reputation for getting rid of nasties so it's in the best interest of the malware to stop you installing Malwarebytes.
In that case I would be tempted to download the installer file on another computer, copy it to a USB stick and copy that across to your PC and see if you can install off the USB stick.

... and also to rename the .exe file. I've seen that recommended on here in the past for situations such as this.
I don't quite know whats going on but I have some nasty suspicions.
The page you linked to in post 19 starts the download for mbam setup automatically.....but at the top of that page is a big green 'Download' button with a flashing arrow pointing to it for Aro 2013 (clearly labelled).
Obviously the OP is a fan of clicking the biggest, flashiest button on a page without reading the text.

Yup, that's just what I was about to post. It's the usual problem of an advert deliberately designed to trick people into thinking it's the relevant 'download button'.
And as most people click without reading, it's very effective.

Your absolutely right. The problem is I don't see that, possibly because of AdBlock. /facepalm moment
I didnt make it clear that once the OP clicks the link, he should not click anything else on the webpage, but he is bound to get that IE security bar, so will need to maybe click that.

Just went in via Malwarebytes.org with AdBlock disabled and saw a big green Download button for ARO2013 but it was at the bottom of the page. The Downlod Now button at the top of the page was for malwarebytes.
In fact on my Mac the ad for ARO2013 was off the screen so if I hadn't scrolled down I would never have known it was there.
As you can see click it then choose download file.
Im sorry if the above is out of date I use chrome now.
Save the file which should say "mbam-setup-1.75.0.1300.exe" to your desktop (easiest) and you can run it from there.
You do not have to do this if you feel I am trying to trick you into stuff like the other guy does, but its clear from the other posters that some have tried and verified the link.
Someone would soon shout and report if it was dodgy. The link, btw, is simply the one the cnet download button points to which I followed from malwarebytes.
You guys make me laugh....in a nice way.
Such patience. I am TOTALLY non-techy & still find stuff I can actually understand on these threads. I'm looking for a new lappy and trying to absorb all info. Great to see posters being so helpful....good work guys.:)
Also, during any installation process, always look out for tick boxes that permit the installation of default search engines and toolbars. Don't agree to any of them.

So don't click it then.
Except you cant download direct from them, they dont host the file. And obviously letting the OP figure out where to click isnt working is it?

Click this link CLICK HERE
Now, this is a direct link to the file. It should start the download process. DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING ON THE WEBPAGE!
If you are using Internet explorer you will probably see a security bar at the top of the screen in yellow
