..after Tweeting that he'd been all day in 'an establishment of Her Majestys" yesterday.

What's all that about???

Edit: IT seems he was filming for TV in a prison.

But still -I wonder why he's left twitter?

His son has probably embarrassed him again.

I always read he's a bit of a one for the ladies, nothing more. His son is very outspoken and I expected to be what this thread was all about

I doubt that very much, he was on it all the time!

As far as I know Barton and linekar haven't had a recent bust-up on twitter but Barton has previously alluded to Linekar not being the perfect family man.

That said, George linekar had no idea why his dad left twitter at the time and you could tell that by his reaction. There were a few rumours that it had been because of a tweet from some account called Red Issue (?) - Gary is currently filming 'Who do you think you are?' and this account tweeted something along the lines of GL being related to Jimmy Savile. Some people assumed that was why he left twitter but I can't see it myself.

Well, that might be why he ended up thinking it's waste of time. ;)

Some can't be bothered with the sh** they get. I know a famous DJ has recently, because of personal things. Why people need to be nasty to others is a disgrace, but some have mental problems if they do that and sad lives.

I agree, why spend your time being nasty to people you've never met? I don't blame some celebs for quitting.

There are a few celebs on Twitter I dislike and whose behaviour i have disliked that i wouldn't mind giving a piece of my mind too, but I'd never do it, it's not my place, not my business and I have more important things to do!

So he's exactly like the bastard he portrays on the Walkers adverts. Disgusting

I'm puzzled as to what his persona in the ads has to do with his real life (supposedly unpleasant) one.

    :confused::confused:

Yonks ago, when he first started doing the ads after he stopped playing, he was till somewhat respected as a 'nice guy' and the ads turned it around so he was shown doing things like pinching a kids crisps, and other git like behaviour.

    Life imitating art now:p

Images are worth money and it is worth protecting that. Imagine if it turned out Vinnie Jones was not really a hard man and the hard men he appears in films with all laugh at him?

I wonder if something is brewing with a newspaper exclusive which he doesn't want revealed. He wouldn't be the first celeb who has quit twitter until the dust has settled...they always return.

The Price is right? (Or am I wrong?)

He should spend a little more time regulating his sons Twitter account- he comes across as a little bit misogynistic on there!

I've heard that he was allegedly a maniac for going round touching up women and having affairs all over the BBC. Very few women liked to work with him.
