I'm sure This Is 40 has been on Film 4 (but again, I welcome its inclusion in this thread as I can't get Film 4 in HD) but for such a high-profile film it does seem like an odd time to show it.
Also, Under the Skin was part-made by Film 4, but has had a great following which you'd think would secure it a 9pm slot. And Scarlet Johansson gets her kir off
Film4 just announced that the Under the Skin premiere will be shown with no commercial breaks.
But given all its hype, and the fact that it's got Scarlett Johansson and she's in the nude at one point, why isn't it on C4? Premiering it on Film 4 means it'll only get a late slot on C4 when it deserves better even if it wasn't quite as good as some think.

Because the hype a) isn't that big and b) is all about what a weird film it is. You can't really sell films as weird, especially not when people could be watching something they've a thousand times and know they'll enjoy on ITV2.

That and the fact it'll bring in numbers to Film4.
Not premieres but BBC Three are airing Scream and I Know What You Last Summer next weekend, 10pm on Saturday and Sunday, I think Scream has been on BBC1 in the past, could be mistaken, but definitely a first showing of the latter on the BBC, will be nice to see both break free.

I don't know about BBC1, but I've definitely seen Scream on the BBC before.

Clearly Channel 4 didn't think much of it.
They have a schedule on Sunday evenings to keep to. They stick a load of films on at this time now as well, usually with less ads, which is good.
