Front page of tomorrow's Mirror has the news that Betty Driver is in hospital. The word on Twitter is that she is seriously ill with pneumonia.

Let's hope she pulls through.

    wow i didnt realise she was over 90 i guess this is due to her age also. hope she will pull through.

    Oh so sad to hear this, and she was only in last weeks episode in scenes chatting to Steve and David :( Hope she's ok :(

    There was a very good and informative documentary on Betty's life recently, she has done a lot in her life.

    I'm not a Corrie watcher, but this woman is such a soap legend. Praying she makes a speedy recovery :(

    My thoughts are with her family and loved ones. I have elderly parents and it has taken me to the quick at how my vibrant full of life mum has been debilitated in a matter of days with "chest" complications. I hope Betty's family know how much her fans are wishing her and them the best.

    I hope she gets well soon, but doesn't return to Corrie. She needs to live out her retirement years in peace. She's done a grand job over the years, and her hotpot will go down in history, but it's time to hang up the Betty apron.

    I recently watched a program where Freddie Flintoff MBE (have to mention his title..lol) admitted he loved Corrie, watches it all the time and would love to appear in it. Maybe they could cast him as Bettys grandson, bring some proper beefcake into Corrie to outdo the likes of Jason, Tommy and Graeme etc :D

    I don't watch Corrie, but know that she has been in Corrie for years. Not that that matters when someone is seriously ill.

    I really hope she gets well soon and pulls through.
