What do you think of neighbours who don't have front door mats?

Can't be very house proud and have a dirty passageway is what I think.
Noticed in my street this was the case with several of my neighbours. Now I know some people will say oh but I make guests take their shoes off in the passageway. Even if that is so they are still bringing dirt and fecal matter into your home and this will just gather in your passage. There is still a need for a front doormat regardless of your interior policy. You can pick one up for under £10 so there really is no excuse for not having one. I certainly would never eat in someones home who does not have a front door mat.

I would be amazed if anyone ever invited you to their home for a meal if you are as pathetic in real life as you are on DS.
I replace my door mat every three months and I recently bought one with a lovely new design with a dog on it. It did occur to me someone may try and steal it but so far no one has thank God!
Yes this is too late I am afraid as it's a bit like saying we have no toilet roll in our bathroom but do have some in the shed!
This could work but considering I have no attention of entering their property it would not be worth the effort.
I have a doormat outside AND inside my door..what do think about that Rufusrain?
You're probably the reason why people who don't have a doormat outside. People that buy 2 doormats don't leave enough to go around for everyone to have 1 each.:(
I would potentially eat in your home but would need to see your kitchen and cutlery first.
you wipe your feet of dirt and dust and leaves and stuff on the front doormat.
Needless to say, you don't then investigate the mat for signs of dog poo or contaminated matter - you go indoors.
And nobody washes the front doormat every time after it's used.
So the next person comes down the street with cleaner shoes than you had, wipes their feet on the doormat, and transfers a bit of dog poo you hadn't noticed from the mat to their shoes.
No shoe indoors policy is healthier than front doormat policy. Straight onto rack when in, porch or no porch.
