Well since I believe John should be up for some sort of best comedy actor award, because I do not take the story seriously at all.
I was going to say he is something like a hapless comedy character victim. So I'd go for Bazil fawlty with a severe temper style farce.
He has gone way over the top big time and has actually gone ahead and started bumping of his hotel guests for real.
He is incapable of telling the truth and so just carrys on with the farce getting worse and worse, going around like a headless chicken from one murdering disaster to another without a 'cybil' to chill him the hell out.
John in a nutshell but with all the capabilites of turning into Mr Bean on a rampage if it gets much worse with the phyisical 'comedy'
It looks as though the Stape storyline will carry on for most of 2011, according to Phil Collinson...no doubt Fiz will find out just in time for next Christmas...
