I've just seen it. It's a bit worrying that it looks like a remake of the original Christopher Reeve movie but with modern special effects. Not sure where the 'Returns' bit comes into play?

amazing how they spend so much money updating him, but he still looks like the kind of person who regularly got bog washed by the bigger boys at school.

It is a completely different plot from the original movies, and "Returns" is a key point. I don't think it's a big spoiler, to say that... *SPOILER* as the movie begins, Superman has been to earth, and left the earth and Lois Lane behind. Obviously, near the beginning of the movie, Superman...well... returns. *END SPOILER*

Two things I loved about this trailer:

    1) Marlon Brando's voice

    2) The music

The rest of it was limp.

It's only a teaser people, don't expect a breakdown of the story.
I found the music and use of the voiceover rather stirring having not see Superman in ages. Supes does look a bit camp (he always did even in the Reeve era) but with Spacey in it I have high hopes for this one.

when he says the line " I have sent to earth my only son" made me think that Superman was Jesus and his father God

I have doubts this will be any good to be honest.

Brando's voice sent shivers down my spine.

    And so did that score.

I love how aspects from the orginal are being used here. Even Planet Krypton looked the same.

Look forward to it Summer 2006.

Good range of comments there ;)

I personally cannot wait for next summer to see it.

Brando's voice does give the trailer an edge...and even though it don't give alot away (that's what a teaser is)...it does "wet my palet" to want more.

I'm just glad its in Bryan Singer's capable hands...and no offence, not Tim Burtons (he is a great director...but this wasn't the project for him)

    Up, Up...and away!! :D

Is there just the one trailer? Did a search on a Torrent site and found several, a couple other ones which I found better than the one posted by the OP. (Although one of them is clearly done by a fan)

I'll try to find the links for you to view yerselves

PS: The music score, voiceover, and footage does make me wanna see it, I think its a 'bridging' movie to ease fans of the old into the new genre/franchise which no doubt they are building

Got to agree with that. Good to keep a tie with the original with the music and Brando

Were there any reasons why the guy from smallvile didn't get chosen for this film??.

I thought the show was quite good, and he did well in the role.

i wolud have also liked tom welling to have got the part of superman in the new film but i think he is tied up with smallville but i think that brandon routh might actually do a good job.

something has just come back to my mind a few months ago i read in sfx magazine that the producers of smallville went to australia to discuss a link between the movie and smallville will be interesting to see if a link is made between the two

hmm didnt exactly make me wet myself with excitement... found it dull compared to the Batman and Spiderman movies I think this one will probably suck!

Bryan Singer dropped X3 for this?? Damn fool, he is. On the other hand, maybe he just did it for the money, which I can respect. Or maybe to screw up the DC franchise on purpose and laugh all the way to the bank. Am I over-analyzing this??

After seeing the X3 teaser and this one... I've got to say the X3 wins by a long shot.
But that doesn't mean Supes returns will suck.

What if they did Frank Miller's Superman?

    DC direct

They'd have to use a Mr Olympian!
