It would be interesting. Presumably she'll have already met her in the future. That could be annoying for Oswin. And I totally see River getting jelaous.
And yes, I'm calling her Oswin because that's all I have to go on.

Really? Perhaps that's just because she hasn't really had anyone to be jealous of yet.
I totally see her going all "overly attached girlfriend" on him once Oswin's skirt enters the picture.
I just assumed that TATM was also going to be River's final episode.
Oh yeah, emotional exit for two beloved companions - oh and River off you pop to the library, bye bye now.
I don't think we will see the last of her yet
As for her last bit I can see it coming full circle and her and The Doctor at an opera and her telling him she is about to go to The Library
Ah but there's only one reason he could tell her his name, only one time he could. And I'm assuming it's not next week.
And surely he still needs to tell her his name.
Lol to be fair, could that one time simply be during sex?
Nah, River Song is clearly Moffat's key idea regarding Doctor Who, presumably the one he's had since childhood. I'd imagine she'll be there till his last episode, at least.
I never said it would be this Doctor we don't know how many Doctor's she has been though yet for all we know she could be married to the 25th Doctor
It's the Matt Smith doctor that takes her to the singing towers-

I hate that thing. Selfish, selfish Moffat, wanting to keep River all to himself.
I keep hoping that if that is the case, either River will be rescued from the Library or that Eleven dies along the way so that he can't take her to the library.
Time can be rewritten. And DVD extras can certainly be rewritten.
True enough
Though you could argue that due to Time Travel he took her more than once
To be honest I wouldn't want River to be written by anyone but Moffat, she's his creation, his gift to Doctor Who in a way. Her final appearance just be his last episode imo.
I kind of like the idea of Eleven regenerating just after taking River to the Singing Towers bringing an end to both stories, not sure if that would work out timeline wise though.
That would be kinda perfect. According to the stupid DVD thing, he already knows he takes her, so if he's about to die obviously he'd have to get it done before he regenerates. There's no rush before then, since, well she's already dead anyway.
*That's of course if River isn't part of the 50th which seems to be about "Doctor Who?", or of course if 11 regenerates at the end of the anniversary, in that case maybe River asking "So what actually is your name?"
Anyway this thread isn't meant to be about my awful story ideas back to the point, I think River will like Oswin as I doubt there will be anything romantic between her and the doctor, I can see them teaming up to outwit him which could be fun.
Never warmed to her when she was introduced in her first episode, and still don't like her.
At some point it will happen just due to the fact Alex will sooner or later age and therefore look older than herself at the character's 'death' in the library.
Plus the Doctor will need to move on from the Ponds, can't see how he will manage that be having adventures with River.
I'm still hoping that the Weeping Angels send them back in time to the orphanage, where they rescue baby Melody and get to raise her and be a proper family. If that means no River Song than so be it, we've already seen her, anyway
I think given the chance Amy and Rory would do that, they would choose their baby over their friend the Doctor.
That's my vision of the Ponds resolution, anyway
I am probably wrong though
