Well as you know OMA won the Album of the Year - which was not a surprise after Blake's tweet to them a couple of weeks ago - but was a disappointment nevertheless last night
However, Rhyd was fabulous singing O Fortuna in his iconic Red Sparkly Suit :cool::D What a statement - the Showman was back :D
Even better we had a classic Rhyd dropping to his knees moment :D
YT videos will be coming soon I'm sure and don't miss the telecast on Tuesday at 10.35pm.
After the interval, Rhyd took his seat with the other celebs at one of the tables on the floor of the RAH and had changed into the rather stunning black sparkly suit with white waistcoat which you can see on the Getty pics that Silly Sue posted.
After the show Rhyd stayed a long time chatting to fans, signing autographs etc until the RAH staff told us all to go home! No celeb stayed as long as Rhydian.
Thanks for the report SC. Rhydian told a couple of people that he came second, so the press reports of a two horse race were true. Disappointing, but if he knows his position then so will others. The red suit was an inspired choice - he made sure that he would be noticed and gave the message to potential 'employers' that he is unique and a breath of fresh air in the classical world.
Thanks Sweet & Liz, I'm home after having a really wonderful evening even with Rhydian not winning. I'm very tired and not feeling too well so I'll post more later but I did manage to record his performance albeit I had a lot of trouble with the focus for some reason so the picture quality could be better.

That's a great pic Liz Seeing Rhyd take the stage in that red suit caused gasps at first and then whoops from Rhyd's supporters, and both the BBC and Sky featured his performance on their breakfast shows

Shame Rhydian didn't win (OMA did), but still, its an honour for him to have been nominated.
If Rhydian came 2nd that is very good - I read none of this on the BBC Ceefax, just that "The Pope lost to OMA"
It hasn't been reported Grim, but I read that Rhydian told someone last night that he had come second. It seems the voting might have been known by some people since a while, Blake congratulated OMA a couple of weeks ago and the press wrote this week that OMA and Rhydian were the favourites.
That must have been very close then
It just annoyed me as Ceefax just said the Vatican album lost to OMA with no mention of Rhyd or the other contenders
Thanks to RhydiansRealm who tweeted the link to this rather waspish review of the Classical Brit awards in which Rhydian is cited as the only man apropriately dressed for the occasion and credits him with the most spectacular performance :D
Yay something for me to watch later on. Thanks for posting that on here, Gilly and of course special thanks to Nonna for taking the time out to record and upload to YouTube.
A clip of Rhydian's performce at the Classical Brits was shown on BBC1 news channel this morning, they were congratulating and talking to OMA and instead of showing them getting their award, they showed them backing Rhydian singing O Fortuna. Rhydian looked stunning in sparkly red, they cut back to the news readers unexpectedly who were clearing agog watching it and wanting to see it to the end of the song .......... so did I !!!
Can't wait to see it on the 18th.

It has been tweeted this morning on Rhydian's twitter page that O Fortuna has had the 'Classical Brit' effect, it has shot up from #40 to #23 in the official uk classical chart. (not to be confused with the classic fm chart, no sightings there yet but fingers crossed for the weekend.)

Two of the pics feature Rhyd with Jodie Prenger.
Only Men Aloud have won the album award, Hayley. I didn't expect Rhyd to win this one.

Apparently Rhyd was partying late into the night and only had 2 hours sleep before appearing on the show
Liz McLarnon was on the show so they spoke of WOTW as well as life after XF.
And Angela Griffin showed Rhyd's Cosmo pic as an example of beauty - quite right Angela! :D
I missed it - doh!
