Hi - after three failed attempts to get Virgin to email me any information on Talk Anywhere services that I can pass onto my non-internet connected parents (the website only seems to mention it in the residential tariff), I wonder if someone on here can help.
I'm trying to understand how you use the service in conjunction with Talk Weekends and Talk International.
Are there any other exclusions or fine print points worth knowing about..... if anyone is able or willing to send me / post the a recent version of the contractual stuff that goes alongside Talk Anywhere, that would be dead handy.

- Do calls at the weekends (which are free apart from connection charge / 60 minute limit on Talk Weekends) get deducted from the allocated minutes? Assumption here is that Talk Anywhere and Talk Weekends can be combined.
- If they do, what happens after 200 / 400 / 800 minutes - does Talk Weekend kick in.... or do you start to get charged for weekend calls at default rates?
- What happens with International calls when you've consumed the prepaid minutes - do any calls over the prepaid amount get charged at full rate or can the service be combined with the Talk International package so that these calls are at the discounted rate?

No, Talk Anywhere is not available with another talk package (i.e. talk weekends, International).
Standard rates as far as I can remember. Any unused minutes do get rolled over (or did) to the following month.
Amy trying to work out at the moment if Talk Anywhere is actually worth it - is mainly used to call mobiles but as it is 10 days in to my billing cycle and I am already down to 100 minutes :eek: !
Rember, a 10 second call would be rounded up to 1 minute, meaning you would only have 399 minutes remaining of your 400.
Make 100, 10 second calls, 10, 10 minutes calls & 5, 20 minutes calls & you have 100 minutes remaining. If a call connection takes place (i.e. voice mail) it's a connected call, even if you hang up when voice mail kicks in - this uses up your minutes.
Hadn't considered the call rounding up - that would explain some of the missing minutes!

The only real advantage I think I can see is that Talk Anywhere lets you use your included minutes for calls to mobiles on other networks, whereas Talk Unlimited only includes mobile calls to Virgin mobiles.
Is there something else I missed?

That's correct but also for 0845 numbers etc. It's quite expensive too. Most people would just have a talk unlimited package and a separate mobile.
Just phoned Virgin and found out that last month I spent 811 minutes to landlines and 91 minutes to mobiles... think I may be switching to Talk Unlimited with the mobile bolt on to make mobile calls 10p per min!
as 91 mins with mobile bolt on will be £9.10.
Will call them back tomorrow to confirm that I don't lose my loyalty discount, the lady I spoke to didn't seem to know I had a discount!
if you go through to retentions you can have a bolt on which gives you 0845/0870 numbers included.i pay £2 a month for up to 1000 minutes.but sales cant do this only retentions
Talk Anywhere minutes are equivalent to paying 4p per minute to calling UK landlines,Mobiles,0845 and 0870 numbers as well as international landlines and mobiles, there is no call connection fee on these calls either. You will be charged extra for calls to Directory Enquiry numbers,Calls made via Operator Assistance,0843,0844,0871,0872,090,paging(076 numbers)07744,07755 and all 070 numbers.
Minutes will not be deducted for calls made to 0500,0800 and 08080 numbers and will remain free.
