How common must one be to shop at Iceland...no, strike that, Id rather not know the answer.
What annoys me about this commercial is that its on twice in a break.

That, I guess is the privelege they pay for - being a show's sponsor

Well I shop in Iceland sometimes and I absolutely hate the adverts!

Not everyone can afford to shop in Waitrose dear.

    Nope.

If you buy a ready meal that costs a pound or two in Waitrose and one that costs a pound or two in Iceland, and one that costs a pound or two in Tesco, they are likely all made to the same spec, on the same lines with the same ingredients.

Likewise, the premium ranges will all be made to broadly similar standards.

Northern Foods make a lot of their stuff, and they also make stuff for all of the other supermarkets on the same production lines including for Waitrose, Morrisons, M&S, Tesco Asda etc.. As do other companies.

It's the same with most own brand products, in fact many are made by the brand name companies although recipes may be changed slightly to produce at a lower cost (breakfast cereals for example, Kellogs are pretty much the only one that don't make cereals for anyone else).

This is true! Ex food graduate

Does anyone else hate the current 'Thats why mums go to Iceland' adverts?

They make me change channel as soon as I see them.

:D They have exactly the same effect on me.

They're better than having Kerry Katona in them, count your blessings!

You can say that again!, her and Colleen Nolan .... Nah... give me Jason any day compared to those two......

Iceland have a massive campaign in and around the 'Im a Celebrity' period and it is a barrage of rubbish.

Orange mechanically recovered recycled garbage that should have been chucked in the bin long ago. That's what I think of the people in the Iceland advert. The food doesn't look too appetising either.

I really like the advert. I think it's catchy.
I didn't buy our Christmas food there, but I do like the ad.

The best Christmas advert was the old Coca-cola one I loved that as a kid.

They should just hire Bianca Jackson from Eastenders for their campaign and have done with it.

Her children live off chicken nuggets and chips!! :p

Why is Iceland appealing to Mums when it should be appealing
to fat lazy single people who can't be bothered to learn to cook - like myself.:D

Interestingly, whenever a "celeb" starts to appear in an Iceland advert, that's a clear indication that their career is on the slide.

Do you think it is as annoying as the 'It's Beginning To Look Like Christmas' ad for ASDA two years ago ?

Notice they have barely made any effort for their Christmas advertising in the last 2 years since.

It's annoying when the same adverts are shown three times during the break on Virgin Media,
it's nothing but brainwashing, except Injury Lawyers for U.

I'm currently trying to pitch to Iceland my Lynx croquette type thingies. They swell up on contact with moisture in the mouth to create an effective seal and stop the little buggerz asking for more. I call them my Oliver Twists.

How interesting that this thread has stirred so many intolerant, sneering snobs to reach for their keyboards. How someone can get so worked up and judgemental about other peoples shopping habits is very strange. I can just imagine some of you standing outside Iceland waving your Waitrose bag sniggering at the mums going in and chanting "looser, looser".
