Watching the Paul Hunter Classic. German crowds are excellent, especially considering they have no history of great snooker players.

Thanks. I posted it, then got home just in time to catch it - forgot to edit my post lol.

Interesting match: the fluke of Ronnie, and that miscue on the yellow.

Aditya Mehta got a 147 in the Paul Hunter Classic tonight, first Indian player to make a 147 break in tournament play! the 106th in history!

regarding Ali Carter, great news that he's coming back to the baize, hope all his bad luck his behind him now and he can concentrate on snooker!

    Quarter finals underway then:

    Mark Selby v Ricky Walden
    Judd Trump v Tian Pengfei
    Dechawat Poomjaeng v Rod Lawler
    Alan McManus v Mark Allen

Great win for Pengfei this morning over his 'rabbit' :p O'Sullivan. Love to see barmy old Jack win the event, super victory over Robbo already today for him....

Judd Trump playing well, 20 centuries already this season, would be ironic if he gets to 100 centuries this season!

Congrats to Mark Allen on going one better than in Riga. Now has 4 PTC career titles the same as Judd, just one behind Selby.

Will also gain him a place in the Champion of Champions later this year.

I quite agree. It will raise the standard for sure but the romanticism of the comp has now gone. I doubt we will see players like Doug Mountjoy in the latter stages now.

Or even the first round for that matter. Assuming they enter, with the likes of Alan McManus, Joe Perry, Mark Davis, Dominic Dale, Fergal O’Brien and Mark King now eligible and vying for the few spots not pre-occupied by former World Champions / Seniors winners, there's little to no chance of seeing Doug's ilk in Blackpool.

Maguire v Walden in tomorrow's 6 reds final then (4:30pm). Will be a second triumph for Ricky if he can defeated the Scot.

Exciting climax to the six reds sees Maguire pip Walden 7-6 clinching the decider on the brown to pick up the 2,500,000 baht (50K) first prize. Say what you like about the validity of the six reds but when you're playing the colours for a difference of thirty grand try telling the players it doesn't matter!
Don't read if you plan to watch the highlights later :)

    Oops! Ta for the correction.

Onto the Shangers then, really looking forward to this one, a full field and the most prestigious ranker of the season so far.

40 is a bit too young to be truly senior to my mind. Even 45 was too young as well.

Shanghai Masters underway then and the big news of the day is defeat for Ronnie O'Sullivan, beaten 5-3 by the resurgent Alan McManus.
