C4 love Davina and they are really lacking a major reality show atm since Big Brother left
they could have one now with Bake Off and I could see them asking her to take the roll
shes a fantastic presenter but does get overhyped up at times during Live shows but when shes mellow shes really good
maybe with Dawn french aswell a good double act:D

I hope not; she's too ubiquitous and we've seen it all before. They need a fresh face or at least someone who hasn't been seen so much on every channel
She's very hard bodied and fitness obsessed too - GBB needs to be presented by someone we can actually imagine enjoying cake and biscuits!

I did think of her. I really like her. Not sure if she's right for it though.

More likely to be Kirsty and Phil.

I think Nadiya Hussain plus someone else ex bake off ie like John Waite who does ITV work or Beca Lyne-Pirkis who presents on Welsh S4C.

Kirsty Allsopp might have been in for a shot with Nadiya but she's been lambasting the show's producers on Twitter.

Davina could enter into the spirit of Channel 4 and advertise her hair colour product whle she's presenting.

    Can't stand the woman.

Funnily enough she was one of the first names I thought of, but in a "I wouldn't put it past them, but it would be utterly awful".

The other was Alan Carr, who would be equally awful.

Bake Off is not really reality TV, it's a competition with members of the public (just like the competitions we used to have many years before the likes of Big Bore etc came along).

I do hope it's not her. For although Divena is ok I at times get fed up with her.
I do think as said Channel 4 need a fresh face. For if its her then I may not watch any new series on Channel 4.
Think I have only ever missed one series of the Bake Off and that was when the show first started.
I have never watched any of the Bake Off spin of shows.

We really did need yet another thread to cover this " opinion " where everyone else posts on the correct thread.

Yeah Jo and Nadiya could work well. Has to be people who you believe would eat the stuff. I like Davina but as has already been mentioned she seems too much of a gym bunny health obsessive to be believable.

Jo Brand is brilliant on Extra Slice, but I don't think she'd be very good at presenting and chatting to the contestants. She isn't spontaneous enough to do what Mel and Sue do.

If it's Davina it would just finish it off for me. She has her niche.....this isn't it

Who's that lady who's often on The Extra Slice? Comedienne? Loves the programme. Roisin somebody or other? ... she could do it and be funny. More in the Mel and Sue line than Davina. If only she was part of a double act! Perhaps she could do it with Hal Cruttenden? Another Bake Off fan.
What about Josh Widdecombe? And Chetna :D:D

I like Davina, I really do, but if I can't have Mel and Sue, then I don't think I'll be watching any more, shame really.

Paul and Mary were replaceable, Mel&Sue are not.

So they will have to try something different, maybe a lone host.

Imagine the scene: Paul Hollywood and [Judge] next to [Host]&[Host]

    It just can't fail!

What's worrying about the prog going to C4 is that they love something different. So they might want some 'wacky' presenter of theirs. Having said that, would they really want to change the overall feel of the prog by getting presenters who are too OTT?

As I understand it, GBBO is produced independently from C4, so how much control will they have in the choice of presenters? If Mary Berry and/or Paul Hollywood leave, they need to get judges with the great knowledge and expertise that these two have. MB has years of baking experience and PH is an expert when it comes to bread.

Fortunately there is no shortage of TV honed cooks and chefs. I'd like to see somebody like Rosemary Shrager and one of the Roux family (Albert is comedy gold if he's up to it) as judges although one TV veteran plus a total newcomer could be good (look how well the "Throwdown" and "Sewing Bee" judges took to it and grabbed our affections).

With a chef or cook as opposed to a baker like Paul and Mary, it would have to be renamed "The Great British Cook Off."

Mary was known for her general cookery before Bake Off, Paul is more the specialist. I think many if not most high end cooks and chefs would know enough about baking to keep it as a baking show.

Davina has ruled herself out because she doesn't "do" sugar. She has said that she wouldn't be able to sample many of the bakes because of that.
