Rihanna S&M.....I understand that the song may not have suited radio, but the edited version was just horrendous and ruined the whole song. They even changed the title of it. :-/

Another weird one is Rita Ora's "How We Do". It goes like this:

So when the sun sets baby on the avenue
I get that ***** sex feeling, yeah when i'm with you.

Shouldn't they be censoring the word "sex" rather than "drunk"

Some Radio Stations just censored the Party and Bullsh*t part :D

**** in Paris by Jay-Z and Kanye.

You have to laugh at what happens to Jay's verse. It sounds like someone just constantly pressing the mute button every few words.

Radio edits are a censorship on free speech - please don't do it - you'll gain far more respect for playing stuff as recorded by the artists

Most music channels edited the second verse from:

    Hungover I think I'm broken
You say the fix is a shot of Jack
I say man what are you smokin?
But allright, pour a glass, and we'll throw em back

    to:

    ****** I think' I'm broken
You say the fix is a ********
I say man what are you *******
But allright, pour a glass, and we'll **** em back

    Ridiculous!!

    Christina Aguilera "You Lost Me"

    Original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XjZ5KhBCrI

    Radio Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On7sbkiZ5MY

The instrumental change for the radio edit just rinsed the song of all its original charm not to mention the dated drum loop that sounds like something from a 1994 pop band track. Such a waste!

I don't see why people like Rita Ora can't record alternate, clean versions of their songs for the radio. Do they think the bleeped-out swearing makes them sound cool?

I agree. That song was absolutely destroyed. I've deleted it from my iTunes and replaced it with iTunes' own radio edit, which is a million times better.

why was this censored? i don't remember any bad language in it?

i would also add 212 by azelia banks to the list as Radio 1 could only play like 1 and a half mins of it and i am not surprised really, the lyrics are disgusting, god knows why she could not record a clean version.

i always find it funny when radio 1 censors songs but the same songs are aired uncensored on commercial radio, example being S & M by Rihanna.

I like that cause it was obvious they were being deliberately funny with the noises! Lily having the cheek to release those songs was always gonna cause a stir.

Untouchable wasn't censored it just got cut down from 6 and a half minutes to 4, and for some bizarre reason one of the lines was given a robotic echo!

Taio Cruz - Dirty Picture .... WTF did the radio just go mad ... for censoring "dirty" ??? (MTV/BAUER edit done the EXACT same thing to this ... before 9pm censored after 9pm "dirty")

and also another of his "hangover" ... I got a little s**tfaced last night ... they may as well have kept shitfaced in! :D

can we have a campaign to keep the swearing in??? ... might as well younger children (majority) of them swear now than what I use to!

^ Yeah, I remember Dirty Picture's edit lmao. Some stations just left it normal, but on some others it went "Take a, take a picture for me", and others it said " Take a d---ty picture for me".

One thing that always confused me was why they censored the word "satellites" out of Boom Boom Pow. Infact, that song had a weird radio edit too, lots of censoring, usually replaced with some sort of electronic sound.

I think radio stations are getting more lenient though. Last year Rolling in the Deep and Sweat by Snoop Dogg both had the word "shit" left intact on most radio stations I listened to.

lol. I remember that. I also remember Judas had a strange radio edit. They muted a lot of the bridge for some reason.

Also Don't Phunk With Your Heart sometimes had "phunk" censored, because it sounds like "****".
