lost of series link on sky

for the last week we have lost series link for our sky hd .when we have called the help line we have been told once it was automatic thing now and would work even if we just pressed the record .which seemed strange as we might not want every episode of a prog.over the last week we tried this and it dosent work.second time they said it was a fault on their software and would take weeks to sort out.not happy with this and thiking of changing from sky why pay for something your not getting? has anyone else got this problem and have they solved it
