Thought she did well, she made it seem like a fairly interesting song.

I agree. Her worst week, definitely but she's a sure thing regardless

Must have been a better Elton song that Sharon could have picked for her?!

She sounded completely different to any of her other performances. It really was quite brilliant. Fantastic.

Why did she sing it so high? Sounded strained in places, and it wasn't necessary because that song doesn't go very low so it could have been moved down.

I think Sam has a good voice but didn't like that at all.

Rebeccas version is the closest I have come to liking a cover of Candle In the Wind, otherwise I can only listen to Elton John sing it. I found Sam's very strained and almost nasally. I just expected something better from her.

It's the first time when I have thought "Wow" with her. She didn't belt it out. She kept it soft.

    Beautiful.

Were we watching the same thing? it was about as soft as a very stale cake.

    It was alright.

People shouldn't cover Elton John. They'll just embarrass themselves. Tonight was atrocious from everyone.

Sang through her nose and strange pitching. Thought it was dire

'Candle in the Wind; is a poignant, reflective almost melancholy song, Sam missed thw whole point of interpreting a song. That was truly awful. Admittedly, there was nothing on what was a mediocre show at best that was any better.

Watched her performances on youtube just there... She's been great so far, but she dropped the ball with those last two performances. Probably won't matter, but you'd think she'd go up a level for the semi finals instead of going down one...

No delicacy or sublety at all - just the usual monotone belting out.

There were serious pitching issues going on. First duff performance from Samantha

This was the first time I have heard the words of this song sung clearly. Sam's diction is excellent.

I don't care for the song but I thought she did it well. It's often hard to sing a song that was specifically written by and for someone of the opposite sex with a very different voice, as Nicholas found this evening and the men always find when it's Abba week. Her first performance and her track record will see her through, plus this is such a popular song it will get votes all by itself.

I personally just can't stand Sam Bailey. Right from the start. She irritates me and I really really hate the sound of her speaking voice, especially when they have to do those silly staged segments when they're in the House. Yes, she's got a great voice, but I am so so tired of her singing them all in the same way!

Like Sam but both performances not as good as she usually is maybe because of nerves but still backing her to win

That's just her all over isn't it? Being over rated....Not just by the judges, but by the general public.
