Radio Times - subscription price increase

I've been a Radio Times subscriber for a good few years now. I like the magazine and so I haven't minded paying in advance to ensure I get copies delivered every week.

However, I've just received a letter telling me that my subscription price is increasing by over £20 a year, to 2 instalments of £46.80 (£93.60 per annum).

Issues currently cost £1.80, and £1.80 x 52 = £93.60

So there's no cost saving to subscribing anymore!

I've cancelled anyway. Are there any other RT subscribers who have received a similar letter recently? I thought the whole point of subscribing was to save money.

Sneaky when you look at the current offer

A case of brand new customers only>:(

    I await my letter:(

If that's the case I'll cancel my sub and my partner can take advantage of the offer.

Presumably the cover price will go up to make the subscription price a "better" offer.

    Yeah, probably.

Still, I can see many others cancelling their subscriptions. I had been debating whether I should or shouldn't cancel recently anyway, so when this letter arrived this morning it made my mind up for me.

I used to buy TV and Radio Times every week but given that they're such anodyne, biased magazines and with the arrival of the EPG, I gave up on both years ago.

This week's cover makes me wonder how much longer I'll bother:

"Your RT Just Got Bigger! Food, Books, Travel."

It's supposed to be a frigging listings mag.

It's the 20-26 September issue I'm talking about. The London/Anglia/Midlands edition. 20p more than the previous issue.

That's the issue I meant. They must be testing a new price. :(

They dont class themselves as a listings magazine anymore but a magazine with listings
