Can only imagine how much it must hurt ITV being beaten by BBC Two on Sunday nights this winter. A night on which they were so dominant and could do little wrong for so many years.
*Time for some big changes in commissioning and scheduling.
A clear 40%+ peaktime share across the 2 main BBC channels is pretty awesome. I recall when they were hitting the mid-high 30s on Sunday's last year and didn't think that could ever be surpassed.
BBC One today announces 5 x 30 original drama series Love, Nina. Acclaimed author Nick Hornby is set to adapt the prize-winning book by Nina Stibbe, which will be produced by See-Saw Films (Top Of The Lake).
At 5x30 it sounds like Love Nina is either going to be stripped across a week at 10.35 or perhaps 7pm like the war drama when the one show was off. I reckon the former, sounds a bit highbrow

Both look interesting, although neither look like an obvious ratings hit, especially since there's only two slots 30 minute dramas can go in, 7pm or after the news.
Anthony Horowitz is always an interesting writer, with an excellent track record - he was the lead writer on the early years of Midsomer Murders, created and wrote Foyle's War, and his two Sherlock Holmes/Moriarty novels in recent years have both been gripping.
Having said which, this summary of his new BBC show does not bode that well:
"New Blood will see Stefan and Rash come up against the uber rich and powerful – corporations, individuals, governments and the new breed of criminals who hide behind legitimate facades and are guarded by lawyers."
Wasn't that exactly the premise of that show made by the people behind Hustle, which crashed and burned against Downton in 2013?
And oh so typically BBC - of course businesses and rich people must be villains...

Anthony Horowitz such a noted left winger;-) You couldn't be more wrong.
Your own ideology is blinding you.
* Channel 4's most watched drama launch since This is England '86 in 2010;
* Held an impressive 13.6% share of the available audience across its 100 minute slot;
* 43% of the audience was over 65 compared to the slot average of 19%;
* Its share of the over 65 audience watching TV was also 19%.
Interesting that the drama skewed much older than is typical for the Channel 4 network. Perhaps this is the way they need to go if they want more 3million drama ratings. Of course, they will still need to be of the ABC1 variety in order to make the show profitable.

If this were on American crime show... that's what the title would be "Stefan & Rash"

In this age of PVRs and now ad free on demand, the BBC benefits enormously over the commercial networks for live viewing.
Why watch 15 minutes of ads per hour when there's no need?
GYAT - 1.9m (also 1.9m inc +1)
Really should be just pulled into the Bond slot and put a film on
Peak-time shares:
BBC1 - 29.7%
BBC2 - 11.8%
ITV - 10.8% (inc +1)*
Channel 4 - 8.5% (inc +1)
Channel 5 - 4.6% (inc +1)

The 34 year old Bond film, For Your Eyes Only, which ran from 4.15 - 6.30pm, also got 1.9m

New Blood is a bold and surprising 7 x 60' crime thriller created and written by Anthony Horowitz, made by Eleventh Hour Films.

And being promoted heavily on BBC Radio stations
I'm expecting around 11m for the killer reveal episode. Is the live episode on Thursday or Friday?

Which is why I paid tribute to AH, and noted that the slant is typical of the BBC, not of his past work.
Let's see. Will there be ANY businessman or rich person in this show who is NOT a villain?
If only there was a press release to read a few posts up.........
Shocked you haven't been bothered to read it.
