Letting religion run your life......

to me is laughable.
Be it Christianity, Islam or Flying Spaghetti Monster.
I know there'll be plenty of "Oh, FFS, not another religious thread", but I don't care.

Seriously, why?
And why is it ruining their lives if it is what they want?
Troll /WUM spotted.
Pass it here when you're done
How can you be an atheist if you believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster? Pastafarians are as much part of a religion as, say, catholics are.
I was thinking of using the word RUIN but left it as RUN instead.
My post was deliberately provocative, but nothing wrong with a bit of lively debate.
Oh, and Flying Spaghetti Monster stopped being a wry, witty mockery of a God-like figure as soon as it started, really.
Atheists do not believe there is a God but many of them believe in the FSM
I have plenty to say......just not yet.
I am an atheist and there fore don't believe in any god. That includes the FSM, which has exactly the same probability of existing as any other god, therefore should be regarded as equal to them.
Because you have created a religion-bashing thread and you're sitting back watching all the drama.
What about the alternatives such as spirituality, meditation, non-duality etc?
Definitely.
Exactly. And that probability is infinitely close to zero...... (IMLTHO)
Well it certainly makes a change to have a lively debate on religion on here....... Oh wait........
The flying spaghetti monster is provably real, though.
Proof.
But I don't let him run my life. That would be silly. He is helpful when I've got no food and am feeling a bit peckish, though.
Can I ask you then, in all seriousness, what you wanted out of this thread that you couldn't find in the mountain of all of the other religious threads ?
Every aspect of religion from top to bottom and side to side has been debated and argued over on DS multiple times over so i'm honestly wondering what you wanted that you couldn't already get ?
Obviously there's the attention aspect that comes with starting yet another religious thread because you know the usual suspects will come running, but did you really think you had a new and different slant on the debate or did you simply decide you wanted to start another argument ?
