iPad downloaded partial album only from cloud?

Apple, in their infinite wisdom, make us download our iTunes library to an iPad 3 using the Cloud, rather than being able to connect to an ipod etc. Mostly it worked ok. However on 2 different albums, the Cloud showed only 1 track as available to download, whereas in both cases I'd bought the whole album, which are on my iPod nano.

I'm new to iPads and the Cloud. Any help in retrieving my lost music please?

Do you not install iTunes on your computer, synch your iPod and then synch your iPad?

My mac was wiped with a new motherboard installed. I seem to be reliant on iCloud
The back up seems ok on the mac but not the iPad. Will have another go at syncing iPad with mac.

iPads don't have USB adapters do they? Just camera adapters?
Sorry am new to the iPad

Take the iPad charging cable, unplug the cable from the actual plug and insert that into the computer as it is a usb. You then have a physical connection to the computer.

Thanks Drewster. I've done that and the problem seems to be that the albums have gone missing or been deleted (not by me) on the iPod. I have an old TM backup somewhere and will have to try that.
iTunes is telling me that I've authorised 3 of my 5 computers for my iTunes account. Que? I've only ever had 1 mac; it came with I think Tiger OSX and then had SL and now has Lion. I presume that the iPad isn't considered a 'computer' by iTunes? So the problem is iTunes thinks each OS upgrade is a new computer?!

My 3 dislikes of the iPad (love the rest) are that it's an iTunes functionary; autocorrect..and the keyboard.
I'm eyeing the Logitech Bluetooth one as don't think Apple do one with a stand?

Sorry about multiple qs but don't want to start diff threads. Thanks for your help.

Try using Touchcopy http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php to back up your iPod and then copy the albums into iTunes and then update your iPad
