Is it me or are the BBC still an ageist organisation? Surprising given all the trouble over them sacking older women, obviously think they can get away with pushing aside greying men.

Would any other organisation get away with ageism by trying to stop older people listening? I am well over 30 but still enjoy some of the music and chat on the station, so will give the new show a go.

Would be amused if all the 20 something's turned off but the older listeners stayed so the average age increased, what would the controller do then?

Good point. Justin Bieber and One Direction hold no attraction for 20-somethings. The likeliest audience for the show as packaged is pre-teens and their parents. The Team Grimmy thing no doubt will burn itself out over time and the BBC Trust will be back where they started with listeners of all ages - which is as it should be.

I never took the #teamgrimmy 'now with added music' thing as a dig at Moyles -everyone knows how successful he was- but as a way of signalling things to come.

Team implies that there is competition, and he already has the job. It's more like a gang than a team, I thought.

I'm 42 so nowhere near their perfect listener. I've listened to Chris Moyles for years and am gutted to see him go. I do, however, like Nick Grimshaw so will give him a go (I'm not ready for R2 yet). The #team thing is peurile and offputting, though.

Can't bear Fearne Cotton or Greg James. Love Scott Mills and Sarah Cox.
