Despite that, I love PS plus, and agree it is excellent value to the extent I haven't bought any retail PS3 disc games since I started subscribing back in 2011 and my subscription goes all the way up to Sept 2015!

Hasn't it been 3xPS3 and 2xVita games a month for a while now? They haven't started giving you less PS3 games than they always have so its as good value as its always been for a PS3 owner.

I tend to hold off buying games now as they often end up free in PS+ at some point.

To be fair, the Vita games are completely over and above what we've been promised on the PS3. They've not replaced PS3 games with Vita ones, it's the Vita game instead of nothing, so you aren't missing out. Besides, they do sometimes have both versions - Thomas Was Alone, Big Sky Infinity etc were there as the Vita offering, the PS3 version was a bonus.

If the PSN store has a sales on which includes items known to be in the next months Plus offer they do tell us. The Ico collection was part of a recent sale which is when Sony announced they would be free as part of Plus the following month.

It was posted in here the day Sony announced it which was the same day those items went on sale on the PSN store.

Oh, I thought it would actually warn you when you put the item in the basket and go to checkout, would be much more useful if they warned you actually on the console where you can buy it instead of having to hunt on the net for the information.

Do Sony have a contact email for PS+ enquiries?, I might contact then and see if they will refund or anything, maybe if I say someone else did it when it was logged in or something?

Seems stupid them even putting it on sale if it is going to be offered free within weeks, that's like just encouraging people to buy it and then find they could have had it free a couple weeks later.

Or maybe just check the blogs/topics like this and quit moaning? Of course games are going to be reduced not everyone with a playstation has plus, put it down to the gamble you take.

Although to be fair: in the actual sale, Playstation Plus members get even more off and price is displayed bigger with that 'plus' sign, so it is a bit of a sly tactic even if they do warn you that the content will be avaliable free in a month's time.

Maybe the plus content should be void to members for purchase, one month prior. Or plus members need to have a hard think when buying from the store, period.

Exactly, they could easily warn plus members or even void the content that is going to be made free imminently for plus members, wouldn't be hard to do and would be a lot fairer IMHO.

You may think this would lose Sony sales but in fact buying something and then finding it will be free in a matter of weeks makes me much less likely to buy things in the store in case this happens again so they will actually get less sales from me and other 'burned' customers as a result. As this thread confirms other plus members do have this problem too.

As I said before, I love PS plus but I don't pretend it is perfect, there are issues that need sorting out, and making it clearer what titles are coming up is one of them.

A warning on the store would be nice, but voiding the content wouldn't work as some Plus members might want to actually purchase it in the sale with the Plus discount so they can keep it forever.

At least Sony do announce the Plus content in advance and they do warn people when content appears in a sale that they know will appear on Plus for free the next month, this is a lot better then the way things were up until last month when they started warning people with Hitman. At the end of the day Sony have no obligation to warn people about sale content appear for free the next month but they have thankfully chosen to warn people albeit not in the most prominent way.

Yeah, I forgot about that, as they are truly monumental games, it is probably worth it to be able to keep them forever and means I can safely ignore them and concentrate on playing the over 150 games I have that are tied to my plus sub.

Anyone think it's worth extending Plus? My sub runs out June 2014 but have got hold of a 90 day sub and not sure whether to top it up or not. Can't see Plus being supported on the PS3 that much next year. They'll want people to invest in the PS3.

Will be interesting how they get round that though, because lets say I did subscribe up until Sept next year - they can't exactly give me nothing up until my sub can they?

Hell yeah, whenever I see the 25% off deal (£30) I've added another 12 months, I'm subbed up till May 2015, they'll continue it on PS3 for at least two years after PS4 launches, maybe longer, and there'll be a PS4 service too and I want to be on board for that, there may even be benefits for those who've already signed up.

I've got my up to June 2014 as well. I will buy an extension depending what they give me between now and Christmas, and what they got planned for the PS4 +.

One thing to remember is that when the PS4 comes, none of the existing content you acquired is likely to work. It will still be in your dowbload list and if you have an active membership, that might be offered via cloud gaming on the PS4, which doesn't interest me too much.

I am also skeptical of the costs of a PS4 + membership, and starting the game content from scratch.

You seem confident that we will continue to get benefits on the PS3 for another 2 years... I just don't see that happening which is why I'm reluctant to re-sub.

yeah, i don't want to be stuck with a PS3/Vita only plus memebership, this time next year!!

I hope they expand the service to the PS4 in the right way.

Why wouldn't PS4 be apart of Plus?

They launched PS on PS3
then
Launched PS Vita and added Plus support
now
They are planning a PS4 launch, i honestly can't see a reason they couldn't extend the current Plus model

Sony have a history of continuing to support their consoles after the new generation has launched, you can see that with the quality of titles comign to PS3 this winter.

Also, the PS3 will continue to grow in less developed territories after the PS4 has launched in US/EU/Jap, so there's no way PS+ will be dropped like a stone.

I am sure plus will be part of the PS4 and I would hope so for an easy expansion as it was the case for the Vita.

But also remembering that a lot of people still have PS3s and there will be limited good PS4 releases. So we're in the middle of a tricky transitional period. And then there was talk of differently priced models, instead of the universal (PS3 + Vita) one we have now.
