there was supposed to be a review of this to make stuff like copying your own cds to mp3s for ipods legal, but i'm not sure what happened
IIRC, a junior minister said in some Parliament session that they wouldn't go gunning for people ripping CDs they'd bought - as while it was technicTAL ally illegal, it had been done when taping LPs for secondary playback...

I just wish the studios would stop playing the retail streaming sites off against each other. JUST GET THE WHOLESALE STREAMING RENTAL MARKET SORTED AMONGST YOURSELVES!
Then let them compete on price and convenience, enabling us viewers to buy OR rent the content we want when we want.
