ahhh those heady days,then this galaxy crap came in,what dross,i remeber they had a day think it was on a bank holiday when galaxy played all the classic kiss cuts/hits chosen by the listeners,it was a smash hit people loved it,"we are listening" they told us ,then go and proceed to play all the usual dross and there crappy competitions,i mean a mystery F*****n voice ,who gives a toss,yawn,and the presenters who are programmed to say this is galaxy before every tune they play how fustrating is that? :mad:

Yes, I seem to remember really liking this station when it started during 1994, a time when I used to visit the north west more frequently and could therefore listen fairly often. I also remember when they announced they were going to expand into Yorkshire, bringing the possibility of getting Kiss at home (which was just about possible for a while, but only in mono). Then I think about 10 months later it became Galaxy and everything went downhill. A year or so after that we got our own Galaxy station in the north east, but by then it was far too late.

Doubtless my tastes have changed gradually over the years and I may not be quite so keen on dance music now (and I was never really keen on rap and there is so much of this on Galaxy - they incorrectly call it R'n'B) but I'm sure Kiss then was a much better station than Galaxy is now.

Before Kiss 105 launched, I 'brokered' the deal to sublet office space at Pentagon (the production company where I worked) in Hull, to their 2 sales exec's.

The two head guys from Kiss (I forget their names - one was Guy I think ?) came over and I ended up producing their pre-launch 'promo' on the digital studio we'd just had installed.

I think it was the first job I did on it. And guess what - I just found the DAT a few weeks ago.

Love that voice-over Kiss used.
