This is the first Sticky thread in GD, has anyone notice that?

Nope. When Michael Jackson put Maddie under a bed with Shannon Matthews thus prejudicing a fair few court cases there has been a sticky.

Or were they announcements? They're not very consistent on here.

Excuse the ignorance, but what's a Sticky thread

Is it like an icky thread? :p

That all depends - what is an icky thread, for that matter?

Well, icky means sort of gross.

Imagine Ross and Monica, in Friends, having sex together.

Now that would be seriously icky.

Finally, no more "Hello, I'm new" threads! Although this is going to turn into a spamming ground. Maybe they should make people keep on the topic of welcoming newbies.

    Oh, and welcome!

No, but there have been some icky theads.

Anyway, back to my original question.

    What's a Sticky thread

    Hello all newbies.

In answer to your question, Bob, it's a thread that always appears at the top of the forum listing (it's 'stuck' there), whether or not anyone's posted in it lately. You'll see a drawing pin symbol next to its title on the forum home page.
