I just love horror films, can't get enough of them :). I've only got like one horror film on DVD that I haven't seen yet and thats The Descent.

Some that I already have include
28 Day/Weeks later
Saw (all of them)
Hostel 1/2
Eden Lake
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Hills Have Eyes

So just wanted to know if anyones seen some good horrors that they'd recommend.

I like all these films. Even though i've seen them I'm still thankful for the recommendations :). I thought the first Evil Dead was good but from what i've seen the other two are just weird lol.

I thought the recent remake of Friday 13th was pretty good. (I usually HATE it when they screw around with the classics, *cough* leave Michael Myers alone, Rob Zombie! *cough*, but I liked what they did with it.

Pet Semetary always scares the bejesus out of me.

And you can't go wrong with Black Christmas. Legend.

Thanks. The other two films were a bit too much on the comedy side for me lol.

Oh yeah I forgot about the remake of Friday The 13th. I used to watch the originals all the time when I was younger. Pet Semetery is good to. My mums got Black Christmas lol, need to give that a watch.

    I recommend Inside too,if you don't mind sitting through foreign movies - it's a really good horror/thriller.

I think the Friday the 13th remake was probably the best FT13th movie ever made.Of course it's cliched and by the numbers, but then they all are.

I'll also add Clive Barker's Midnight Meat Train.I liked that one.

    And Texas Chainsaw Massacre:The Beginning.

Yeah I enjoyed REC, the first time I've watched a film with subtitles all the way through. I originally thought it was some American film. I'm thinking of getting Dog Soldiers now, i've heard about it a lot and the trailer I watched looked good.

If you liked Hostel and thought it couldn't get any worse then you have to watch "Mum and Dad".I am a real horror fan and it disturbed me. I think it works because it is just so real. A true modern day horror classic.

"May" is also a one to watch if you dont mind really weird stuff.

If you fancy a Vampire film with a twist then I thoroughly recommend you check out "let the right one in". It is Swedish so you should be aware of that and not mind subtitles. I especially like this one as it's quite arty and has an edge to it aswell as great acting and an interesting plot to keep your interested.

Embrace older films too. As I've aged () I'm finding that a lot of the older and/or black and white horrors I first saw as a kid are having more of a psychological effect on me, whereas their creeping, uneasy sublety might have been lost first time round.

Ones that I like that I haven't seen mentioned yet:
I prefer the more suspenseful creepy ones rather than the ones that are 'just' gorey although suspense AND gore together work well for me also.

    Silent Hill
    Suspiria
Hush (out to rent/buy soon) - Very tense low budget thriller
    Creep
    Storm Warning
    Dead Silence
    Pin
    The Sentinel
    Magic
    Rosemarys baby
    Don’t look now
    The Birds
    House of Wax
    Psycho
    The Shining
    Wickerman (original)
    Wrong Turn
    Dead End
    Cabin Fever
    Jeepers Creepers
    Carrie
    The Grudge (Original or remake)
    Audition (Original)
    When a stranger Calls
    Resident Evil
    The Eye (Original)
    Vacancy
    The Strangers
    Drag Me to Hell
