Romantic hotel in Edinburgh?

Looking for something quite central (old town)

Want one that is quite romantic, big bath, lovely bed and all that.

Looked through so much sites and reviews but struggling to settle on one. Was thinking either Regency guest house or The Salusbury.

Any recommendations? Thanks

If you're determined to stay in the Old Town I'd have thought your choice would be very limited, though, and you'd probably be wise to expand your horizons somewhat. However, since neither of the options that you mention in your opening post are in the Old Town (basically the Royal Mile and the area nearby) I think you're probably meaning just accommodation in Edinburgh generally.

This place probably fits the bill as a romantic hotel, but it isn't cheap!

One of those threads was mine - I plumped for the Jury's Inn - which was a dump at £150 per night

Would have definitely gone with the Missoni if it wasn't fully booked - but that's expensive.

You don't say when you're going or what your budget is. Edinburgh is an expensive hotel city so you'll near to think about that.

Tiger Lily in George St is meant to be fab. The Scotsman is also great, my brother spent his wdding night there

Sorry, but asking on here (when you're already struggling to find settle on somewhere) seems to me to be a futile exercise! But hey ho.

Anyway, recommendations. One that is often overlooked, maybe because it's new, is the Apex on Waterloo Place. It's absolutely beautiful what they've done with it inside.

And for something maybe a wee bit different, but literally across the street from the Apex, are the Princes Street Suites (names a bit misleading, because they're not on Princes St as such). These are self catering apartments, but they really are very swish. And in a fantastic location, with some excellent views.

Wherever you, whatever you do, enjoy it - and take plenty money (if you can, obviously). Edinburgh is a fabulous, wonderful city, but it can be helluva expensive.
