4 Music won,t even play gimme gimme more because it's raunchy, unless im wrong but yet they play Niki Minaj RiRi and some of the vids are very raunchy, either that or Ofcom are snooping on them.
MTV Classic played it around 11am the other day - the channel that in Britney's countdown won't play it as it's too raunchy. I can only assume they make the programme and it's shown elsewhere on another channel.....maybe not even in the UK.
Unrelated but Britney's new song is being played on VH1 (seen it earlier)
I seen that new Nicki Minaj/Ariana Grande - song crap vid good but again I could see double standards really unless its just a phase these channels go through? Shirtless men (OK), women near butt naked (not good)
Music vids these days are just that - they are able to push the barrier but stick on something from the 90's expect the same cut version to be shown before watershed and after it!
I've seen it on VH1 once. Only because she performed at the VMA's and MTV back anyone that does for a little while.
She was performing it on Jonathan Ross nearly two weeks ago - weeks after it was released. Typical Britney promotion - always ages after the event.
Chilled are doing a decent chart today - Disco Dancin - lots of old 70's, 80's classics such as Earth Wind & Fire, KC & sunshine Band etc but they ruined it by chucking in Justin Timberlake and 3 Bruno Mars songs!
YMCA was on and how comes that is never played on Boy Power charts - hang on, where are the Boy Power charts....oh wait, it's just that Girl Power is sexist nonsense.

This playlist truly puts MTV Dance in UK to shame .... i'll point a few I like from this list (will highlight them), it amazes me that in this day and age MTV UK misses these songs out or barely play them (songs not highlighted never heard much but if you know dance in general I would say this above is what MTV Dance should be doing even if they put on more "old skool" but of course they can't be bothered!
Clubland's 50 most selected ever chart just shows up how they played just what they wanted rather than listen to the requests, as a good amount of the songs have rarely been played compared to songs that didn't even reach this chart.
The top 3 in the Most Played Ever, didn't even get in the top 50 most requested either.

What I would do with VH1 is make more like the USA version with its own programmes, Then close another music video channel down for a HD simulcast of VH1.

There's also various programmes from C5 which would fit on VH1 UK, if they were to make it a celebrity/entertainment channel again, such as "Most Shocking Moments in Pop", "20 Moments That Rocked..." and "How The Other Half Live".
Spike UK has been successful blending C5 content with US imports, so a new VH1 could be too.

MTV Classic becomes MTV Xmas on Friday 11th November, and VH1 switches to Christmas music on Saturday 12th. The schedules look the same as last year.

VH1 - The only time of year it changes - rest of the year same tat different day!
Regarding VH1 with Channel 5 programming whilst I do partly agree with this idea but lets also remember the sole purpose is for people watching VH1 is to either hop off to MTV (land), Channel 5 or Spike (let alone there is NO VH1 ads on VH1 let alone on the sister channels a la ... MTV mostly followed by Channel 5...), If Viacom/MTV UK were really wanting to invest in VH1 we would have seen a big change since the revamp and since the revamp we could simply say the channel is pretty much doomed - VH1 has nothing going for it compared to its sister MTV comparing to what they looked like in 90s BOTH MTV/VH1 were invested in but these days its more Viacom has interest towards Channel 5/MTV/Spike mostly (even Comedy Central/Xtra is shite these days!)..only thing going for Comedy Central for me is Impractical Jokers/Bobs Burgers/South Park but again another set of sister stations that are shit too! >:(
Another one to add to Viva's unlikely plays - MC Hammer - Addams Groove.
Sure it may be Halloween, but I doubt other channels will play it (no matter how awful it is).
Good god ... I remember that song! .... now if VIVA can dig up "tetris" and "mario brothers" they are onto a winner .... but why all of sudden play that one? I get its Halloween but more to the point its different than "you can't touch this" on all the time!
Since VH1 is pointless can VIVA just be a channel for playing more of these locked up gems that MTV lets its other channels show - they may as well! Also is it not time this channel had a revamp too? The "widescreen" effect with its graphics does no good! I guess not in a way since VH1/VIVA are really forgotten MTV channels these days!

Viva occasionally prove they have many archive videos, so it's annoying they don't use the archive more.
Viva occasionally prove they have many archive videos, so it's annoying they don't use the archive more.
Heart is now Heart Xmas!
It shouldn't be left to VIVA doing this on "occasions" .... they have VH1 and MTV Classic (I rather see a vast improvement to VH1's playlist with songs like that!)
So let us get this straight VIVA/MTV have an archive they have but they fail to use it properly (on their sister channels) but as if by magic VIVA is the channel that they are showing these videos on Thats it I officially wave the white flag on VH1 just get rid of it - make VIVA the new VH1 instead .....
I wonder why MTV UK is holding back on VIVA graphics? I'm not keen on the logo if I am honest but I am pretty sure it would look good on screen (but then again the European versions seem to give their other channels a bit of colour compared to MTV UK being dull with VH1 but MTV graphics get all the colour.....yeah we can see where their concerns lie!
I remember exercising in a leisure centre at a Butlin's resort, when a horrendously butchered rendition of "Ayo" by Chris Brown blared from the nearby television set. When I heard, "...All my SEHCTIB got real hair chilling... ....I'mma take her SSA down... I'm a boogie AGGIN SSA...", all I could do was blurt, "What on Earth??!?"
It was painful.
Fortunately, being the masochist that I am, somebody was kind enough to create an emulation of 4Music's ludicrous censorship impositions on YouTube - cleverly titling the channel "4Cisum". If you're not afraid of your sanity being compromised, here's a link:
I noticed today Box Plus are championing a song as their new video of the week or whatever guise they use it as - a song that has already been in the charts in the top 10 and in the charts for 10 weeks.

Firstly that link is weird sounding secondly i'm not sure on your point (i've had a long slow day, forgive me )
Are you saying those lyrics shouldn't be censored or are you saying they didn't censor that but censor far less, or are you saying the censorship sounded like that in your link and it was terrible?
I think it's the latter but i'm so knackered i'm taking an early night cos I have work again tomorrow and right now I don't know the difference between right and wrong on anything
Was mostly dodgying between Kiss/Magic tonight regarding kinda "old skool" or "90's" themed chart
Kiss has Get Down Old Skool Vibes - I was generally expecting a mix of both old skool dance and r&b - was mostly filled by r&b -- however 2 things that bugged me .... Beyonce - Crazy In Love they have now cut off the last 10 secs off video and 2) Eminem - Without Me - seems like near the end its carefully edited too - I remember how the video ran originally but tonight it just looked weird and quite possibly it has been edited
However winner for tonight for me anyway is Magic with Don't Stop The 90's Party - not bad songs Haddaway - What Is Love, Madonna Vogue, Backstreet Boys, Backstreets Back, Whigfield - Saturday Night, Corona - Rhythm of the Night etc
The MTV Channels inc VH1/VIVA was just poor was more modern hits as usual MTV Base to a degree was OK but again was similar to Kiss ie Dr Dre - Still D.R.E., Chris Brown - Run It (the only song I like from Chris and this was BEFORE the crap hit the fan with him )
The censorship sounded virtually identical to that in the video. Reversed gibberish up the wazoo. My main beef with 4Music is not merely the fact that it censors music - all channels have to comply with Ofcom regulations, after all - but the manner in which they do it. I have yet to see a broadcaster censor music as amateurishly as 4Music - or should I say "AgainstMusic"?
To be concise, while I certainly wouldn't want my prospective children hearing and imitating things like "Stop that ******, crush that ******, **** that ******'s world up", there are much better ways of removing the explicit language, rather than making it sound like the artist is arbitrarily suffering from a stroke. 4Music's just lazy (and inconsistent) with their censorship.
