Just in case you're serious, no there isn't a 24 hour window. She comes off it for seven days each month to have a withdrawal bleed and is still protected from pregnancy during those days. Any longer without taking it however and then she might be at risk.

Seriously though, if you have sex you might get her pregnant. It's very unlikely on the pill but nothing is foolproof. If you can't accept the risk that even safe sex could lead to a baby, then you shouldn't be having sex.
Better still you should both be sterilized for the sake of humanity
To be fair the girlfriend does sound like she is a grown adult who knows she doesn't want kids and therefore takes the pill, It is the OP who seems to not have a clue

I was under the impression that sex ed was better now than when I was a teenager a long long time ago. It seems not. Especially if anyone thinks that cleaning with toilet tissue is going to get every sperm before it can get to the point of no return!

As has been pointed out already , there is always a chance of becoming a parent if you have sex, the only 100% foolproof contraceptive is celibacy.
