I've for the app for YouTube on my phone and tablet but there's no option for blocking user. I'm sure I've been able to in the past when my pc was working.

Not sure why you would want too, just don't visit the channel or unsubscribe if you are subscribed.

Even though you use an app on your tablet you can still access the desktop site (the one you used to use on your Pc) via the browser on your tablet and make more advanced changes to your options using that.

I have logged on through desktop and even verified my account but couldn't see option to block user. I've unsubbed the channel but would like to know that the user can't see my account anymore.

What's a "channel" and "user" on youtube?

If I go into youtube, it's to hear a specific song or watch a film. I sinply go yo the website and enter a name into the search box.

I'm not sure exactly what you want to achieve but does this help?

    Just in case you're serious:

A user is someone who has registered with YouTube. That allows them to specify a set of channels to subscribe to, so they see when those channels have new items. It also allows them to upload videos should they wish to.

A channel is all the videos uploaded by a user. I'm not sure if one user can have more than one channel; perhaps they need to create multiple usernames to do that.

Channels can also have playlists: sets of related videos.

    For example, here's a channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/elnicholson1

And here's one of the playlists on that channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb-8Gy55ZLXaVGaWY3_O_KUo2H5cgmb7P

Thank you, I can see where to do it on Desktop. Will the channel user be able to see old comments I left on their channel ?

Thanks for the explanation. And wh,y on earth wouldn't I be serious? I'd never heard of these until I read this thread. Presumably these clips would come up if they matched a youtube search, they're not restricted to registered users?

Yes that's correct - try it.

I was hoping a YouTube block would be same as on Facebook where the channel would become invisible, never mind.
