Local TV (info from Disco)
D.S. thread Contributor, Disco, has been looking through various websites it seems that, unsurprisingly, the launch dates for the local tv channels are slipping.
Most of the 19 already confirmed are now set for 2014 launches. It seems that Estuary TV will be the first to launch (and that already broadcasts on Virgin under a different name – Seven). Only a few are so far indicating a definite Sky launch (whether they have agreed carriage is another matter!) though at least two more are indicating carriage on "other digital platforms" (i.e. other than Freeview).

The latest he has been able to find are:

The licences awarded so far with the latest and (in most cases) provisional launch dates are:

Local TV update

It was announced today that Local TV in Scotland and Wales will be promoted from channel 26 to channel 23 on Freeview.

Here is an updated list of forthcoming local tv launches. Launch dates for local tv are generally highly provisional and should be taken as an indication of the earliest likely start date. Some will be delayed.

2014
Freeview channel 8 unless stated. Made In Bristol and Made in Leeds are scheduled to launch on Sky channel 117 - some other channels may do the same (although any Welsh channel would launch on channel 134).

24th January - Cambridge Presents (Cambridge)
7th April - Bedfordshire Television (Luton)

In the following cases confirmation of award of licence by Ofcom is awaited for the following companies who were the only applicants in the area shown:

That’s Basingstoke (Basingstoke)
That’s Surrey (Guildford)
That’s Reading (Reading)
That’s Salisbury (Salisbury)

In all four of these areas the provisional launch date is 1st January 2015.

Ofcom is currently considering bids received for a licence in Maidstone. It has rejected the bid for the sole applicant in Bangor (Wales). No applications were received by the January 2014 closing date for Barnstaple, Londonderry, Limavady, Gloucester and Plymouth.

Ofcom intends to advertise a final set of locations in 2014 in: Aberdeen, Ayr, Bromsgrove, Carlisle, Dundee, Falkirk, Inverness, Kidderminster, Stoke 27th May - Notts TV (Nottingham)

TV panel makers are betting on a high rate of growth for UltraHD (4K) LCD TVs during the next four years. These companies expect to ship nearly 943,000 UHD LCD panels this year, up from less than 33,000 units in 2012, according to the Display Materials & Systems Service at information and analytics provider IHS. The next two years will see shipments ramp up even more quickly to 7.1 million units in 2015, on their way to reaching 20.8 million units by 2017. The total rises much higher when including a type of lower-priced, lower-specification product called UHD Ready, panels, which mainly are targeted at the Chinese market. Suppliers collectively plan to ship as many as 4 million UHD Ready panels this year alone. More

SES jumped at the opportunity to announce the launch of its SES Ultra HD Experience initiative, which invites content providers and broadcasters to work with SES to support the development of the Ultra HD value chain. “You’re not alone. We are here today to say to you: let’s work together,” said Norbert Hoelzle, SVP, commercial Europe, SES, during Wedensday’s 4K session. “Let’s be the catalyst for industry and get the Ultra HD train rolling. The BBC has told London’s ‘Future TV’ summit that viewers are less and less enthusiastic about watching programming in 3D. The BBC’s technology guru Andy Quested, said the BBC had been an excited supporter of 3D broadcasting but that each time a new 3D show was televised, the audience ‘spike’ got lower. Quested’s comments come at the end of a two-year test of 3D at the BBC and include top-rated output such as the BBC’s flagship Strictly Come Dancing, natural history blockbuster Walking with Dinosaurs and comedy show Mr Stink, as well as last year’s London Olympic Games which transmitted dozens of events in 3D. The news is all the more disappointing given that the potential audience for 3D in the UK has expanded considerably, to around 1.5 million homes, over the past two years. More

The new family of compression technologies, HEVC will be published shortly, but much testing remains to be done. More.

    2nd June - STV Glasgow (Glasgow) - Ch 23
August - STV Edinburgh (Edinburgh) - Ch 23
Summer - Made in Tyne & Wear (Newcastle)
Summer - Made in Cardiff (Cardiff) - Ch 23
Summer - Made in Bristol (Bristol)
    Summer - Latest TV (Brighton)
Summer - Made in Leeds (Leeds)
Summer/autumn - Your TV Blackpool & Preston (Preston)
    Summer/autumn - Bay TV (Liverpool)
    Summer/autumn - That’s Solent (Southampton)

16th September - Yorkshire Coast TV (Scarborough)
    September - City8 (Birmingham)
    September - NVTV (Belfast)
1st October - Bay TV Clwyd (Mold) - Ch 23
October - Your TV Manchester (Manchester)
31st October - The York Channel (York)
1st November - Made In Teeside (Middlesbrough)
    Autumn - That’s Oxford (Oxford)
    Autumn - SLTV/Sheffield Live (Sheffield)

    2015
Stoke on Trent and Stratford upon Avon.

Jimbo. This needs reordering as follows (I've also shortened):

    Local TV (info from Disco)

Following the launch of local tv in the Lincolnshire (Seven), London (London Live) and Norwich (Mustard TV) areas, further launches are planned as set out below. Few channels are indicating they will follow London Live by launching on Sky, though others may follow suit either at launch or later. The launch dates shown are highly provisional (exccept where bolded) and should be taken as an indication of the earliest likely start date.

    2014

Thanks for that. I will put this up in next week's thread also so it looks right.

Thank you. I thinkn the confusion was that we used to have some of this appearing twice.

    Thanks

I dont know about that but I think its DVB-S1 and 22000 5/6, as it works like that on a Sky HD box tuning to other channels.

Local TV in North Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire
The channel is called Estuary TV. It is no longer called Channel 7 which was a cable exclusive channel (Diamond Cable -> NTL -> Virgin) Estuary TV is only available on VM and Freeview despite rumours of launching on satellite.

Not any more, it was when it was being used for data when 1N was still around but that was switched off when 2E took over.

Do you mean all other 16APSK transponders were switched off as well when 2E took over?

Yeah, I think those are the only two data transponders left now? I don't have the ability to check where I am at the moment.

    Just to make sure --
    have 11.009 V, 11.186 V, 11.479 V and 11.508 V all been switched off? Those were all in DVB-S2 16APSK at SR 22500 FEC 5/6.

That is correct. The other four muxes you mentioned above are now empty.

'Safeer TV' to launch on the 16th June, details here- http://www.media247.co.uk/bizasia/safeer-tv-confirms-june-launch-on-sky

EPG number to be announced soon.

Wonder if we'll see a temporary 'International' overspill genre?

    876 British Muslim TV
    877 Safeer TV

    Something like this?

Just when I was planning on using the signal for more video editing!

At least I have found this in the main list that Jimbo provides:

    Txp# 84, 12.670 V, 22.000, 5/6.
    54072__________Colour bars and tone (obrienmichael05)
