9150T hard drive

I bought a Humax 9150t last year it has a 160GB hard drive etc..what I would like to know is, if I wanted to put a bigger hard drive on my STB what type should I go for, and what size hard drive can I go up to, plus would STB format any HDD I put in to the 9150T automatically..please bear in mind I'm not that techincal when it come to this sort of thing..lol

Is there an upper limit on the drive size that could be used?
Sector numbers are stored on the hard disk in 32 bit words. So I would say it should be OK up to 1TB. Between 1 and 2TB it depends on how the software has been coded (i.e. signed or unsigned). Above 2TB there is very little chance of it working.
The largest disk I have heard of being fitted is 750GB.
Interesting! I can't see that I'd reach that number but it's good to know.

Thanks. I think that would be more than enough for me.
But then again, the original IBM PCs could only take a maximum of 640 KB of RAM because who would need more than that.......
