It's total cobblers. Even if he had, by some miracle, got out and managed to flee to South America, there is no way he would have survived until 95. He was ill and had a number of ailments in addition to the Parkinson's disease evidenced by his continually shaking hand kept hidden behind his back, but caught by the camera.
If anyone could have found a cure for his ailments it would be he. He had ultimate wealth, power and control over all medical authorities.
I haven't read the link, but can someone inform me how he is supposed to have escaped to South America in the final days? Berlin was completely surrounded. Like from everywhere. The whole place was a mess so roads were off limits and the amount of chances to be stopped by Allied troops was insane. Where is he supposed to have got the plane or boat and again, what is the realistic likelihood of that plane or boat just happening to avoid the total war going on all around and making it safely out to Brazil?
I've read quite a bit about Hitler recently (I'm a history undergrad) and one thing I've noticed is that lots of writers (certainly in past decades) would write all sorts of stuff about Hitler as if to try and make him seem less human or less rateable to them, like to distance him from "regular" people. Of course, this can veer into pretty offensive territory (especially in hindsight) when they are accusing him of being bipolar or saying that he was gay or something, as if that was somehow an explanation of his actions and makes him different from the "normal" majority. It can be quite irritating to read some piece from the early 70s being all like "well, Hitler was one of those gays, so he's obviously messed up and nothing like the rest of us" because it's kinda suggesting that I should just be lumped in with old Adolph as one of those perverted degenerates. Basically, be sceptical of what you read about Hitler!
I did read one hugely entertaining (though totally nonsense) piece recently claiming that Hitler loved women to piss and shit on his face and that, deep down, he hated himself and wanted to fail - he apparently launched Operation Barbarossa because of a deep psychological desire to destroy himself. It was completely mental, but hilarious all the same.
Stress of running the biggest war campaign in history perhaps? There was a documentary recently talking about how drugs were pretty widespread in the Nazi leadership, military etc.

what is this supposed to mean?
Yes like wealthy people can be cured of cancer... not
Use some common sense Malcolm.
It's not Hitler anyway. The Daily Mail know this and are just wanting hits.
Definitely. Steve Jobs would have gotten rid of his cancer if cures were for the rich. He was insanely wealthy.
I'm with you now! :D

Kershaw
They are full of boring old facts though.
Wasn't that Mussolini
HAHAHAHAHA!
Those 3 writers are dealing with hearsay though.
Only those who were truly there will ever know what went on.
The "old man Hitler" version in the butler was maybe never even meant ot be Hitler in the first place.
They'll be more informative than the trashy Daily Mail.
I thought he was a Nazi.
I've never seen any evidence of it.

You should start a thread about it.
By the time his health was in the condition mentioned, there was little of substance left in Germany, never mind there not being a cure anyway.
This whole story is rubbish.
2 poles and only 1 ball....?!
Get in your tanks.
