Not that Id see it banned or anything but the story of Punch and Judy is pretty fcked up though. I used to think it was horrible as a kid. Doesnt he beat the baby to death?

I'll be honest, I cant remember the whole plot. But I have known from an early age that Mr Punch wad a wrong 'un.

All fairytales are ****ed up, Brothers Grimm, Roald Dahl, traditional fairy tales are all a bit dark.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Someone has complained about a Punch & Judy show saying it "promotes domestic violence".

    http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/s-way-Punch-Judy-critics-say-promote-violence/story-22734997-detail/story.html

'Political correctness gone mad' doesnt even cover it.
I'm in my 40s and they were saying it back when I was a kid.

It does. It's not funny never was

When I was a kid, I felt like a freak because Tom & Jerry, the brothers who slapped each other (the Stooges?), Punch & Judy and other slapstick comedies made all but me laugh.

I just couldn't see what was so funny about hitting someone. I even burst into tears when a character slapped Stan Laurel's face repeatedly. Apparently, I ran to the TV and shouted at the screen, trying to stop the character hurting "Mister Nice Laurel". :D

Roadrunner did make me laugh, though. Yay?

Morcambe used to slap Wise on the cheeks ;-)

What a stupid, sorry, woman. She was disappointed it was still running 3 days later. Good on the organisers.

Crazy. It's only a puppet show and it's been going for hundreds of years. Seems people get offended by anything these days.

Was watching a Punch and Judy show outside the Eastgate Centre in Inverness many moons ago.Outside the shops, opposite the main entrance. The tourists were loving it.Punch,Judy and the Policeman arresting Punch for Domestic Abuse.:o
Next thing, a real PC and WPC walks up- to many boos, and stops the show. They looked so embarrassed.Seems the shops next to the stall had complained about losing business.

Perhaps Mr Punch should beat up and punch the animals instead on the show......
