    Doctors looks very low :(

Hot weather a factor. The share's not too bad.

BGT-Live does not exist in a vacuum.

What are the BBC putting against it and what did they do in previous years?

They certainly are not bothering this year.

They are putting out a pretty standard schedule, albeit swapping a few shows around. Bank Holiday Monday admittedly was mostly throwaway.
What do you do against this kind of week though? ITV are swamping the schedule with 3 solid hours of a highlight format and the two soaps - with an England international thrown in for good measure. BBC1 has just about hung in there I would say but its very difficult to compete with what is a kind of Christmas week for ITV.

BBC Two would have commissioned it, and in truth I would have thought that the adult language, the use of four-letter words, and the dark subject content would not have gone down that well on BBC one.

And BBC two is indeed an alternative to ITV(1)

Indeed - BGT is cunningly stripped in half term to capitalise on the extended family viewing time with kids being able to stay up a bit later and watch it with parents. I don't think The Fall perhaps has the same appeal in that respect...:D

An interesting point is how consistent the peak has been:

    Monday - 12.2m and 9.1m
    Tuesday - 10.8m and 8.3m
    Thursday - 10.4m and 8.7m
    Friday - 10.8m and 8.7m

    Can't argue with that, really.

The peaks are excellent, the averages are solid but not storming-seem to remember DOI getting those kinds of averages several years back.

outside primetime on saturday only skysports in football season and bbc1 seem to do well as there is lack of any live childrens saturday morning show like the past

wouldnt having a live show from 9.30 till 12 boost itvs daytime share on saturdays out side primetime seeing as bbc on its main channels doesnt show any cbbc anymore???

to avoid even more bad rating reports for eastenders in the press when its up against bgt on itv in the last week of may wouldnt bbc1 be better not screening the soap until the week after and have hour long tue and thurs episodes etc that way at least although enders not doing great when no bgt live week at least it avoids extra bad press etc

ITV really need to do something about the whole of weekend daytime. It's quite dire most weeks.

They really should have used this weekend as well for the French Open. Be interesting though to see how well the Derby does for C4 - anyone have the figures for last year on BBC1?

As for BGT, agree this week has been solid but slightly underwhelming but I think the reason it escapes much criticism here is because it delivers a fairly decent show every night, while wiht The Voice the most interesting thing about that show is it's ratings.

One thing as well about Britain's Got Talent is that for the main show, a lot of people may be choosing to watch the main show from say 20:15 and going straight into the results - which of course means lower ratings for ad-breaks, although these will be stripped out in the officials.

Why are digital spys ratings different to what jscumming and liam Hamilton say? Ds says BGT got 8.4m inc +1, those people say 8.9mill. DS are probably right. Actually BGT performance was below 8m excluding the repeat, worst rating for performance show in many years.

Think the fact that TWO sources are reporting 8.9m and only ONE source is reporting 8.4m suggests that 8.9m is the correct figure. DS have got a different rating for the results show too.

Even if the 8.4m (7.96m exc +1) is right, it wouldn't be the 'lowest performance show in many years' anyway, the Tuesday show last year got 8.2m (7.8m exc +1).

Terrible post Samuel. At least get your facts right before you troll.

Someone has got the BGT ratings wrong somewhere. Jenny Cummins reports 8.9m and 7.9m (both including +1) whilst DS report 8.4m and 7.6m inc +1. Anyone know which is correct?

DS have the share and everything so I believe them. Liam hamilton used to work for itv and he may have directly just quoted jscummins rating which is unreliable. As it stands based on DS rating, it was bgt's 2nd worst performance show in many years. Need a 3rd source to confirm.

Jenny Cummins has a different share. And Liam Hamilton posts numbers on days when Cummins doesn't anyway. Clutching at straws here.

Fair point score. What can the difference in ratings be down to? It cant be an HD exclusion problem because HD for bgt would surely be more than 0.4m so why the disparity in ratings reported?

No - DS have the lower figure so you are choosing to believe that one.

"mrmattybeck" has gone on holiday I see. At a guess it is because of his recent post which contained a criticism of Samuel and nothing else, which has since been removed. Just a word of working to those choosing to follow suit..

Seriously what has happened to this thread??? It used to be the source of great banter and cracking stats...now it's just petty nonsense, no data and Groundhog Day discussion.

    Such a shame.

    Thanks for listening

Edit there is still data :o

Couldn't agree with you more. This thread is now full of bitching, and childish/sad arguments. It's like being back at school where a handful of people spoil it for the rest.

The next series of SCD has 4 different professional dancers. Amongst those to leave, defending champion Flavia

One you've missed there is The Call Centre on BBC Three, it is being advertised heavily, so must be expected to do fairly well.

Added it to the list. It has been promoted a lot, they'll probably be hoping for 0.75m+.
