I think he'd be really good, and he's older than I am so I'd be happy with him in the role. :)

Not getting my hopes up though, seeing he's been named in a paper...

What does 'Doctorish' look like? Enhance my education.

I have no idea what 'Doctorish' looks like, but he seems to be a good actor and has a smile like his dad :)

Gonna guess this isn't true and this was the "OMG someone is gonna announce the Doctor and send the Beeb into panic mode... PANIC!" story that meant that the non story about Steven Moffat disappointing us was possible... Oh the whispers and rumours which cause such games and hilarity...

He was in "The First Men on the Moon" with Mark Gatiss a few years ago. Mark Gatiss has a strong working relationship with Moffat so I suspect Rory Kinnear would be in the consideration list.

Just looked at the oddschecker site again ,this morning Rory Kinnear was 25-1 and 5 bookies were accepting bets. Now he's 8-7 and only 1 bookie is still accepting bets! It therefore seems that the bookies are pretty certain who's the new Who.

Now 1-41 on oddschecker, something must be happening!

It's not him. He's contractually tied up.

Very good actor but I can't picture him piloting the Tardis for some reason.

Please god no. Someone more attractive, and a bit younger.

I wouldn't read too much into the odds, it's probably just people taking the article seriously and placing bets driving the odds down. I wouldn't mind Rory Kinnear, he's a great actor, but I doubt it's him.

He's around about the same age Tennant was when he was cast.

So it starts . Aren't there enough boy bands and reality TV shows out there to take up all your leisure time?

We miss out on so much these days because of our obsession with looks and youth. Just think of how many amazing actors and bands from the past wouldn't get off the starting blocks today because they're not pretty enough. Less homogenous shiny plastic flesh please!:D

Haven't really seen much of him beyond the Bonds. He doesn't have huge parts in either Quantum or Skyfall so I can't really judge.

But If he's right for the role, then looks shouldn't matter.

I was hoping for more of a looker, to be honest.

Although - in a way - I don't think it matters ho's cast as much as how they're written. I think there's a reason the incumbent Doctor is only third favourite with the public.
