The difference between True Blood intro music

Has anyone noticed the difference with the song on the US/UK intro screens? same song but the American one seems to be a faster tempo. odd.

    US shows are sped-up from 48 fields per second to 50 Hz when broadcast in the UK.

    Indeed. Almost all American shows are sped up slightly because of the difference in frame rates. A good example is to try and listen to the Friends theme tune from the USA and then from the UK.

    I've only ever noticed it on Smallville and, to a lesser extent, Dexter.

    Does that also mean that the running/screen time of a US show is reduced by about 4% when shown in the UK?.

    Yes, and likewise the running time of US DVDs is longer. The speeding-up is also apparent in voice pitch. I've noticed that some blu-ray disc action sequences (that play at the correct speed) seem less exciting than the previous UK versions that I was familiar with, alas.
