HOLY.....:eek::eek::eek::eek:!
Does that include the Tescos that just changed their names we had a Tesco near us that until a year or two back was called just Tesco. Then suddenly it was called Tesco Express.
The man in charge of TESCO will know (it will be a man).
It includes name changes.
54% of the UK population is within 15 minutes of a Tesco Extra
5 min walk of a Tesco Express
5 min drive to another Tesco express
5 min drive to a Tesco Superstore
All opened in the last couple of years.
4 in St Albans (1 of them is a metro) with the giant one rejected
2 in Potters Bar (either end of Mutton Lane)
If the proposals go ahead there will be 2 superstores in the Welwyn Hatfield area  oh yes and a few in the Watford area i'm not sure about all the others.
Yes ive had 2 Tesco Expresse's open up recently practically right on top of each other.
Bloody ridicullas.
One of them's opened like just up the street from a morrisons in Fleetville road in St Albans and Walworth Road (A215) in South London.
Was it central london because if so large corporations usually dominate the market there?
To be fair I can understand why you would put a shop next to a tube station, but a few less Tescos and Costas would have been nice.
There's a few novelty shops/restaurants lurking here and there you just gotta find them first it's quite tricky
Basically the 4 small localities that had a decent mix of independent shops are now run by Tesco. There is no need for 4 within walking distance of each other and it seems they re only there to force the competition to close down. I wouldn't be surprised once that happens, a couple of the Tescos close too.
What once looked like a future dominated by the 'evil' Microsoft, now looks like it wiil be Tesco and Apple run.
Whilst not noticing Tesco, I think I read that their is a M&S food store near every central London Tube Station (those within the circle line), maybe Tesco going for the same strategy.
