i don't want to hand my tin foil barb back to the shop as i'd like to know where he's going. He's so shiny and his red fins are the best i.ve ever seen if i'm honest. He's got to about side plate size and is too big for his tank. Sadly its time to pass him on. Anyone have any suggestions what i can do?

I'll look after him. It's never gone wrong when people have given me animals to look after.

He'll be ok in the bath, right ?

There are specialist aquatic boards where fish get rehomed. I wouldn't know which are good and which are not so good, but I'm sure Kelly mentioned one a couple of weeks ago - probably looking for a tank for Aesa's poor little fish.

We went to Daves aquarium the other day. Looking at what we might put in it (the biorb not daves aquarium)

I've even taken my xmas tree down so have a nice space for the biorb.

    Can rabbits swim ?

    Yeah. That's the one.

I think it's actually called Britain's Aquatic Superstore or something but I've always know it as Dave's Aquarium.

Hope you find somewhere, my friend was talking about flushing her fish down the loo, I told her it was a cruel thing to do.

You're right, that is dead cruel :( Most shops that sell fish will take them back if you can no longer keep them, and then someone else can take care of them.

Hello You, long time no hear. Have a look on here - There are links to all local clubs and they have Wanted/For sale pages that you could place an ad and then you know that there are going to be peeps that are likeminded and knowledgeable enough to give your Barb a good home.

I have a look at what I can find. I haven't heard of a separate species of GT - but there well might be. I'm having to get a new tank made for the stingrays and the Tiger shovelnose catfish as they've outgrown the their current one a bit quicker than I thought. :o

By 'Parrot', I take it you mean Parrot Cichlid?

I'll let you know as I find out more.

not cold water no, but my fancy goldfish tank stays at a constant 75* and i have never been able to lower it. some people keep fancies in a heated tank too  not that i would. ive known of some people to house balas and tinfoils with goldfish, it doesnt mean it would work every time :) they may just be lucky.
