Yeah, Steve Brookstein still seems furious about his x factor years.

Regarding Max, it feels as if its the press spreading the idea that he may write a tellall to pay his fees rather than it being fact, or at least as yet. Its almost as if theyre really hoping he will.

Steve claims that in about 2005/6 the News of the World was going to do an expose on the X Factor and how manipulated it was, he was interviewed and it was a all set to be published, but the on the Sunday the story didn't appear and was instead replaced with a gushing article about Simon and the show.

Something similar happened about three or four years ago when the NOTW were going to publish a front page story about an alleged relationship between two male contestants on the show saying how they'd been caught in bed together in the X Factor house. The problem was that one of the contestants involved was pushing 30 whilst the other was still only about 17. I remember that night well, we were all gossiping about it on here and then on the Sunday itself the story didn't appear and was replaced by another on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. A story the paper later had to pay damages for. So the NOTW was prepared to get sued by someone else in order to protect Simon and his brand. A long thread discussing it in the X Factor forum also mysteriously vanished..

And some people say that he doesn't have any power in the media and we are all just imagining it!:o

Yeah, I saw some of Brookstein's comments too.

I always thought it was odd that the paper were going to run with that Dannii 'affair' story at the time (-I'm not entirely convinced if I'm honest...) but were persuaded not to by Cowell's team... only for it to be used to promote his bio years later...

I wouldn't even bother reading it if Clifford wrote a tell all book. I doubt a word of it would be anything close to the truth.

LOL. Of course, they are. And since he's retirement age and probably doesn't care if he ever works in PR again, might well do

They also ran a story about Jedward watching porn in the XF house.

Vodka, yeah pretty much what I heard.

And now the latest...manufactured djs! Really, Simon? Really??

Is there no end to the lunacy this man inflicts upon the planet?

Do any of you follow Kevin O'Sullivan the Daily. Mirror TV critic on Twitter? He has Simon's card marked good and proper, and doesn't seem to fawn over him in the way that others in the media do. He was having an interesting conversation with Steve Brookstein on there yesterday which went some thing along the lines of "we both know what Cowell is like, but most. TV viewers haven't yet cottoned on" or something like that. A bit of an eye opener, clearly it's not just us on here who've sussed him out ;-)

    apparently not :D

Dearie me, the British media really are a bunch of paid up, gutless, transparent wonders...

The very minute uncle Simon's PR safety net of Maxxypoo is uncorked, they start to go to town on Simon.

The same OK! that, up until that point, was tiptoeing along with the fawning approach in their other Simon articles (see above). What an amazing, stellar coincidence.

I wonder if other media outlets will follow? I've never seen a couple look less "in love" than Lauren and Simon do.

I would love to see the truth come out about Cowell. He has had it coming for a long time.

With Cliff Maxford busy with other things than blackmailing the media people we might get to find out a couple of new things.

It will be interesting to see some real press stories on Cowbell, now that tpervert Clifford is serving time.
Maybe we will hear more about his friendship with McKenna.

I think people are overestimating Max's impact - the Cowell machine is huge and has been since X Factor started. Max was probably at his peak way back in the Pop Idol days.

Have I missed something? The latest DM article refers to her as his fiancé... ?

At first I thought 'aww'... until it became apparent further down that they were only posing for a photograph for someone :p She looks so clingy...

It's a meaning of life for this baby, to be a constant photo op for its heterosexualist sperm donor.

I'm one of these people who couldn't give a fig for whatever his sexuality is. I'm past caring but get sick of seeing the daily spin and drama designed for the DM and Sun/internet in general. I wish we could have a total break from him and his caravan of nonsense, like, no X Factor, BGT, babymama dramma, intrigue, PR, moobs/$ilicon pecs, yachts.

Just clear off for a year or two, raise your son, or whoever's he may be, and allow the nation to remember how it used to be pre-Simon Cowell. :D

But the child would be traumatised, not having it's daily fix of pictures in the media.

The child will no doubt have to renegotiate the contract if the number of promised public appearances are slashed. :)

Cowell is a strange animal. His profile is rather high and yet he behaves like a zeleb media **** of the worst kind. Does he do it to make audiences of his programmes at a working temperature? Would it be really worse if they did not see his hairy manboobs everywhere?

This is about as genuine a relationship as George Clooney's with his latest squeeze. And just where is her other child?

Note: edited my post above to reflect that I do not think Simon has been suddenly furiously pumping iron at the gym inbetween smoking like a chimney and lolloping about town dining for seven in al fresco flip flops.

Nah. Cowell will have the best publicists that money can buy on speed dial. He had probably already binned Clifford in case he was found guilty and any publicists will be on a strict, water tight retainer.

Did anyone else see "When Corden met Barlow" last night? The editor of the Scottish Sun was on there talking and he said if he was ever given a negative story about Gary Barlow he'd been reluctant to publish it because Gary is so popular and well liked by the public.

I thought that was pretty telling as he was basically admitting that if the press like you and you are "in" with them then they will refrain from publishing damaging stories about you.

This might go some way as to explain why the likes of Simon and David Beckham get a ridiculously easy time from the press and negative stories never appear.
