Hi there,
Just wondered if someone could offer me some assistance please?
Bought my first external hard drive today, and I want it for backing up photos.
Problem is, I'll have photos on two mobiles, my laptop, another laptop, and dropbox.
Is there an easy way to back it all up on a regular basis? Or is it just a case of having to manually do it all every so often?
Also, any disadvantages over having a FAT32 drive rather than the standard? I need FAT32 to back up my PS3 too.
Thanks

Just formatted it to FAT32 and now I can't get the drive to be recognised by windows! Both laptops crash when I try to uninstall it from device manager.
I have an external drive with a FAT32 partition on that I use as you describe so its certainly possible. I would suggest scanning the drive with Seatools to make sure its not actually faulty. If it passes the tests then reformat it again using the long format option.
