Ipod Nano 6th Gen Staying Lit When Playing On Dock

Just had my 1st gen Nano replaced with a 6th Gen (more than grateful!), but quick question, is it normal for the back light to remain on showing the album artwork when playing on a dock?

It looks good, but my both my 1st and 3rd gens never have.
