Depends how heavy the rain is I suppose. If it's just light or spitting you're probably fine. However if it's cats and dogs your best bet is to use headphones or a Bluetooth headset under your hood/brolly
The best option is not to use your phone in wet conditions. Every phone manual I've seen warns about using the handset in wet conditions. It would only need one rain drop to get into the wrong place and your phone would be broken or the warranty void.
Well two years almost of using in the rain and heavy snow and it's still going strong.
That said if it ever did affect it I wouldn't be complaining to the manufacturer....:D
