They even fake the clapping and the cheering now!
At 1.41 the crew member orders the audience to stand up and clap and cheer....

It's so funny, I go in The Voice forum and it's all about its a 'turkey' and how it's all going downhill.

Then I come in here and it's all 'BGT is on its last legs' and it's all going downhill.

Topic creator has a point though, why did that happen?

Something similar happened at TXF audition I went to a couple of years ago, there was an awful woman who the audience booed and someone got up and gestured everyone to stop.

I don't know why it happened, but I'd much rather seeing a crew member encouraging the audience to cheer rather than boo and chant "off".

I thought this was standard on every chat show/studio event. I do think its all a bit deja vu now - oh another "street dance" act?

Maybe he was part of the audience, like a relative?

It's probably been happening since show one of X Factor 2004.

You mean the floor manager. Whose job is to do that on every television show that has got a studio audience.

Oh is that how they do it?

I thought they placed fireworks under the chairs and let them off at appropriate moments.

Yeah, ITV weren't very careful there in keeping that from the viewers. Unless they weren't bothered about the viewers seeing it perhaps.

Pretty obvious, they are having to resort to non-Brits in making up the numbers, whats the point in calling it 'Britain's Got Talent' when over half the acts in a semi-final are obviously not the former.

Maybe it should be renamed 'Got Talent' or Europe's Got Talent'.......?

Why is there a topic about this ? this is something that happens in all tv shows , why do people care about this ?

So now it's X Factors fault is it

This has been going on for ever , EVERY show with an audience does this . Only on here would you see someone make a topic about something as pointless as this. It's really stupid how anyone can think that this is a sure sign that BGT is on it's last legs

Is this a joke? This happens on EVERY television show. It's standard practice. Good grief.

I wonder if they're experimenting in turning it into a European showcase whilst keeping the BGT name. Problem is, as I've read elsewhere, anyone with a non British accent gets quickly packed off home.

There are floor managers at EVERY show where there is a TV live audience telling them how to act - stand up, clap, cheer, sit down etc.
